11 Are there any sites, from experience, which are likely to generate lots of spam?

There are a few which have come to our collective attention as sites that, when used for comps, seem to generate lots of unwanted postal, email & phone call attention. These are listed below for your information, however, please do remember that this is only the collective opinion of other MSE Compers & does not necessarily reflect upon the sites themselves.

    2minutedraw
    4FreeUK

    ActiveYou
    Bouncing-Babies

    Catalink
    Clash Club/Clash media

    Emailinform
    EZ Prize Giveaway
    Fair Exchange
FindAPrize (questions raised if prizes awarded, slight spam, non existant company address, dodgy? Info here & here)

    MyConsumer
    MyFamilyUK
    MyOffers
NoizeMakesEnemies (Care - your profile with name, address, phone number & email appear to be on show with no way to make it private!!)
Nuts (comps.nuts.co.uk - comps on this URL run by data collecting co. Data Media & Research Ltd.)
    OffersClick
    OfferX
    Opinioniser
Optical Express (have pestered with calls, more info here and here - scroll down to post on 12 Nov'12 onwards)

OfferClicks On the spam list in F**F's post
Loquax Useful site - very much like MSE; sometimes - but rarely - has comps MSE doesn't have
Prizebug Not come across it before, but links seem to be to the comp hosts' websites, i.e. like Loquax and MSE
Prizefinder Ditto to 'Prizebug', altho' looks like you can sign up for their 'Advice' on comps (which I presume is just the answers?!), and I think that may generate spam
    Comps.org Don't know it
    Compsfinder Don't know it

I use Loquax and MSE - both websites that collate comps from other host websites.

If I want to find less popular comps, I do searches on Twitter / Pinterest, and Facebook, to try to find ones that haven't been posted. Usually a pang of guilt hits me though, and I end up posting them here anyway :o :rotfl:
  • I 'won' £5,000 on Tombola years ago on a game called Hamster Race - obviously, I was over the moon. We were saving hard for a house deposit so this meant the world to us. All excited, DH decided he'd have a go too, while I was on the phone telling my Mum....he 'won' £5,000 too, then Mum had a go and...yep, you've guessed it....£5,000! Needless to say, none of them were honoured and I haven't been near the site since

What you have to understand is all these other sites are run for PROFIT.
Prizefinder which is partly run by comper di coke who comps a HELL of alot even though she helps runs a profit making comp site, makes money through 'clicks/adverts' etc etc.. They will tell they dont probably but its rubbish.

Mse is the ONLY site which lists comps 100% FOR FREE with NO spam mails, and they WILL NOT sell our details on.

This week is a prime example many of us have been receiving emails from apparantly 'orange/ee/02/vodafone/three' saying we have pic messages.
This is simply due to a comp we have entered somewhere the owners of whatever is was have sold our details on or similar.

There are tons of sites that say win this win that, MSE doesnt - apart from the odd book - because the other so-called great comping sites want your details.

It like these comping bloggers, whoever enters any of their comps is mad, why would you give all your details to another comper for a chance to win a cake/mug/lipstick, i say AVOID them like the plague they are doing it to get free things and make money and win prizes simple.

    Long live SPAM FREE MSE!!!:T

I have to agree with most of the above VP.

Just stick to MSE as reflected,in the main,by this thread.

Then use the MSE functionality to track your entries, unless you have VP's skills.

Find me another UK comping portal with the sheer number of comps plus the easy functionality & I will be amazed.
