Been trying to contact Asda for a PAC number - held on phone now for 2 1/2 hrs - good job I'm using free landline!! Just redialling after 55 mins!
Update: Just found out that this IS chargeable so looking for better route!!
OMG 2 1/2 hours!!! I was on for 40 mins using landline then hung up and now using my mobile even tho' no credit left but this is now coming up to another 40 mins:mad:
I phoned Asda customer services and she said hundreds of people were waiting, wow Asda have gone down in my book.0 -
Glad I jumped ship a few weeks ago! Suspected there might be a last minute panic on this move as they were such a shambles back when it was all first mooted it did not give confidence that it would get any better!0

Deely - that was while I was using the 0845 number that I thought was free on my landline. When I got the 0800 number I was on for 6 HOURS until the line closed - Passing phone to DH while I got dinner, went to loo etc & all 'cos he doesn't know how to set up his phone - still sorted at last
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -

That is absolutely shocking, makes my 80+ mins look like a walk in the park.
I would never use their mobile service again as a matter of principle now and they should be ashamed of themselves.0 -
Rang ASDA line first thing the following morning just before their lines opened. Managed to get through within about 10 mins to get PAC code - phew! Changed to Sainsbury's - got DH's number ported within 24 hours. He doesn't use the web so their PAYG is fine for him - its me that uses the 'net. Happy with the service so far

When ASDA transferred from Vodafone to EE, I was expecting them to refund the unused credit on my phone automatically since they had my name and address. I recently discovered that you have to claim using their web site. However, the form requires you to entire your old SIM number. I obviously through mine away when the EE replacement arrived as there was no indication that you had to make a note of its number. Half an hour on the help lines being passed from pillar to post produced no way of finding out the SIM number from the mobile phone number. They steadfastly refuse to refund any credit without a SIM number. I wonder how many other people have been caught out by this. Probably a nice little earner for them. Their help line used to be very helpful and friendly. Not so any more. As a result I shall be looking round for an alternative supplier as soon as I have used up my remaining credit...RaspberryFool

Just curious as I moved to Three back in March to get away from the ASDA chaos, but has anyone who is in a position to claim unused credit also been able to port their old number to the new EE led service?
It was mooted some time back that if you wanted to keep your old number you had to sacrifice the opportunity to claim credit. And if you wanted to claim any unused credit you would have to go forward with whatever new mobile number the EE SIM imposed on you. You perhaps were not going to have your cake & eat it.0 -
I filled in a claim form online to get my credit back on 2 Asda phones, and this duly arrived a couple of weeks ago on a couple of Asda gift cards.
I also texted something to asda and they sent me a code so when I put my new EE sim in, I texted the code and they transferred my number and gave me 100 mins and 500 Mb data for 1 month. When that runs out, I think I'll move to 3.
But yes, you can have your cake and eat it.0 -
That's good news then about the cake! I am very happy with Three BTW. Especially the 150 free Mb you get when you top up. It's only valid for 30 days - although at 1p per Mb anyway it hardly seems to cost me anything to pick up emails & check a couple of websites. But check coverage in the areas you will be using your phone - have found Three to be very patchy, but as a light user am not too concerned.0
