No - I would NOT do that, kj - your 'good intentions' would, in effect, open the door for people like Apex and Allied to come down on you like a ton of bricks.
I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Please, no. You do not owe them this money.

Am very busy at the moment, but will try and post properly later.

Do not offer anyone anything in the mean=time. Please.

have sent a complaint to the commisioners office today !
thanks for your help will keep you updated...
apex letter says they will send someone round within 3days to check elligability of my residency at my address can they do this ??

They can send anyone they like round, but they have not authority to speak to you, or verify anything. This is just a frightener. Have you complained to the OFT and sent a copy of the letter to them?

No kurjam. Please can you report this lot to the OFT and to trading Standards. Will post the links in a mo.

You may have owed some money a long time ago, but RBOS sold the debt years ago and wrote off the debt on their books.

Apex and AIC bought the debt for peanuts. I would not be surprised if the payments you have made over the years are more than the value AIC and the other DCAs paid for the debt, and they have made a healthy profit out of you already.
