  • All i will say is keep on your Solicitors case and also the Estate Agents, but in a polite way just to make them aware you aren't going to be fobbed off.

We have bought and sold 3 properties and are now seetled but in each case they took around 12 weeks, apart from the last one as we learned if you keep on their backs they DO get it done quicker.

As there is no chain as such it should go through pretty quickly.

    Good luck.

Exactly 31 days from offer accepted to keys in my paw. Helped that there was no chain but it IS possible.
    I used my powers
Its as simple as mustering up all your belief, optimism, positivity and energy and willing something to happen. Sounds mumbo jumbo but it works.
    I just make things happen
Okay, can you spill the beans ? I'm ready to kick someone up the nuts.

Chain was 11. Anticipated completion date = Fri 13th July. Chain broke 9th July, due to number 8 in the chain, allegedly at the 11.11th hour number 7's solicitor noticed a structure attached to the house that hadnt got planning, and pulled. (bullpoo to me - coincided with last weeks interest rate rise)
Fair dues to the E.A, a replacement was quickly pulled in, cash buyers etc etc, and chain now down to 5.
Unbelievably, Mr 8 has now booked himself a holiday - new completion date = end Aug.
I'm tearing my hair out, Iv'e put MY hols on hold, my daughter who is/was, No 10, will be in the labour ward end Aug, and the last in the chain, well the bank just might have repossessed by then.
HOW can I get things moving, as in Keys, for say, 2 weeks from today max ?

    Praying for a miracle?

You have new buyers in the chain. It ain't gonna happen for at least four weeks. Mr 8 is doing well to go on holiday.

There is nothing you can do. I've never hada problem when there has been no chain. Introduce even a third party and the process becomes a living nightmare.

You have no control. Your daughter will now have to be the one that delays moving day to something more suitable to her.

If someone told me they came with a chain that big, I'd run a mile. The inevitable is going to happen and did for you; the chain collapsed. :(
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

    Thanks Doozergirl
She cant afford to dictate/delay the moving date, No 11 {end of chain- now 5} is desperate for the money, he's already put it back on the market, and we've managed to get it back on track. All Iv'e been told on the QT, is he needs the £notes like yesterday, so another 4 weeks or so, as you say, start praying !
What gets me, is solicitors *could* get off their bums - I could log into the Land reg ? & council ? and do the searches myself, max 5 days - havnt they heard of the internet ? - or surely No 7's solicitor could just pass the info over ?
I did try to grab other backup house details, but there is none for the size and price in the area. There's us joking she's going to deliver in the back of the removal mans lorry :/
IF Mr 11 holds on. No 9 is proposing a bridge, shared between 8-9-10, dont worry Iv'e said NO.

Oh I could just scream.:eek::eek::eek:

We signed all paperwork last Monday with a view to exchange on Tuesday or Wednesday, now we have been told the buyer hasn't got buildings insurance set up or in fact hasn't got any buildings insurance quotes as he wasn't told to do this by his Sol. Now we have to wait for this to be arranged and we are hoping to move on the 20th. You may be thinking oh it isn't such a big deal to set up buildings insurance, but apparently he has already tried and the company couldn't understand his accent as he is Indian so then his Sol tried to set it up but the ins comp still need to speak to the buyer for his personal details. It just gets more daft as time ticks by.

Anyway my phone, internet and tv all get cut off on Wednesday so hopefully everything will be fine by then.:mad::mad::mad:

Oh no.. <<big hugs>> - I'm sure it will happen for you. Can he not arrange building insurance with the help of his estate agent acting as interpreter?

I just know you will be telling me next week that you have exchanged and will be panicking over completion preparations!
