My husband's passport photo is horrendous, the worst ever (and mine's bad!). It looks looks like it was taken in the morgue. Roll on needing a new one :(.

    OP, unfortunately you're not alone.
    . . .I did not speak out

    Then they came for me
And there was no one left
    To speak out for me..

I look like a serial killer in my passport photo.
  • I think your health problems are a big factor - lack of sleep and exercise, and health problems can take their toll. Is it possible to go swimming? Can you change your diet to very healthy low carb foods? If you have mobility issues you won't need a lot of carbs, and switching to fruit and veg and meat/protein might help your feelings and your skin, and maybe your sleeping.

Yellow skin can be a sign of liver problems which you might want to get checked out. BUT it can also be caused by eating a lot of carrots!

RE those passport/driving licence photos - I discovered that while you arent allowed to smile with your mouth, you can still make your eyes smile in these photos and it makes a world of difference because an eye smile still perks up your face.

I look like a dead witch in my passport/driving licence photo, it's scary!

Perhaps go outside and take a photo with you smiling and see if you really look like that. I bet you don't! If not, don't worry about it.

That's a lot of time and money wasted on a tiny photograph that just gets glanced at by airport staff a few times a year! Does it really matter if its not flattering? Its not like they're getting framed and going on the wall!

    That made me :rotfl:

My photo for my new passport is horrendous! I look seriously startled/possessed/scary eyes! I hate it!

The one for my driving licence....I thought, 'yeah, I don't look too bad in that photo'....sent it off, driving licence came back, I was like

OP, it's a very rare occurence indeed, that anyone will look good in those kind of pictures.

OP, I'm sorry one photo makes you feel yet worse.
On the upside, even when feeling gruesome, you should be able to find it, look at it & think at least I don't look like *That*. (Though if you do, see your medics pronto.)

In our family there's a warning cry "keep that up & I'll look like my passport photo..." - we all know said photo is a worrying blend of Ian Brady, Angela Rippon & a young Tony Blair so the lads do pause, briefly.

Don't let it define you - indeed this 'camera never lies' lark is a con. It's just a bad photo nominally for your protection.

Ordinarily I would agree with you, but it clearly does matter to the OP otherwise she wouldn't have posted. It's not for everyone, but my point is that if something makes you feel that bad, then do something about it.

I'm kind of okay with my passport photo but I think that was just relief that they finally accepted one (problems with fringe over eyebrows previously, mine now has all my hair scrapped back off my face, I look like i'm ready for a facial!)

However... a company I had an interview at recently take a photo for your temporary pass from a machine at chin height and they don't tell you it's being taken, the first I knew was when I saw it  Exactly the thing you *don't* need when you want to think you look your best is a picture of Jabba the Hut swinging from your lapel :rotfl:

My passport photo makes me and my family crack up every time, It looks like a mugshot of a strange altered species of human that has been discovered. Id agree I have never ever seen a nice passport photo - even my sister who is absolutely stunning looks like the grim reaper in a bad wig :j

My mum hates her bus pass photo, shes not photogenic (neither am I, my brother is, he got lucky) and the photo has also been stretched for some reason, she keeps hoping she'll lose the bus pass so she has to get another one.

Its been 7 years since I got my passport taken and while it still looks like me, its not my favourite photo, the light behind me is very white, I look as pale as a ghost and I also got it done when my hair was much blonder than it is now and my roots needed doing.

I also for some reason have a headband on (I havent worn them for years so my hair is pulled back from my face)

The previous one was even worse. My hair was its natural colour, plus I had a fringe and by the time I needed the new one, I looked nothing like the previous photo.
