As I was saying I want to part exchange my 57 plate car, the C.converter I have been told is broken because it provides a nice rattling noise. Would any dealer take this on?
I don't want to go with WBAC also, from hearsay car dealers would see a woman and try to rip them off left right and centre? What can I do?
Any sound advice would be welcome

Go onto ebay and select advanced search.

Put in a general search term for your car and tick the "sold listings" box.

Then click the "Cars, motorcycles and vehicles" tab

From those results, select the ones same year as yours, plus one up and one down.

Check the sold prices, find comparable cars (mileage, service history, condition etc) and to me, that's the best guide for what your cars worth.

The OP wanted an accurate valuation. ;):)

Then you will get no more accurate price than WBAC.

It is a proper trade valuation.

Unfortunately some people have no idea what their car is worth and have no idea that a part ex price is often inflated using the margin on the car being sold.

Sold a V50 via WBAC last year and was happy with the price.

Yes i could have go another £500 by selling privately but would wanted car gone and was in no mood for the idiots to phone asking me my "last price" or "best price".

And also a lot of people don't realise that their car is actually in poor condition.

And a bit of reality makes them cry and moan on the internet.:rotfl:

First Cargiant, now we buy any car.....

Is there any scabby, chop shop, venue for the poorly informed establishment that you won't recommend?

If you want to trade in, then approach several different dealerships. You should be able to get a good idea based on this.

webuyanycar are well known for giving very low valuations. After all, the do buyanycar.
If you get a value from them (and put up with the emails), then any other value will probably be a pleasant surprise.
Goto Parkers and get a value for your car there. They provide different values for different circumstances, you'll be looking at the trade in one, and take note of the average mileage and compare to your own. Then you can also plan to lose a few hundred more if they notice the cat is gone (rattly exhaust could certainly be this).
You'll get taken for a ride if you're a woman with no knowledge. So would a man with no knowledge. Go into some different dealerships knowing roughly what your car's worth, and what the car you want to buy is worth.
