Thanks for the update boohoo. Today is the day that I can write to EE demanding my final bill and reimbursement of balance (42 days after switch). Will also be asking for the £12 government payment which they debited back. Looking forward to the fight, but would be very pleased if there wasn't one.

My letter to go by Recorded Delivery to the registered office and business office of EE:

Dear Sirs/Mesdames,

Ref: Account number 0000XXXX -:- Final Bill/Reimbursement of credit balance/£12 Government payment
Please consider this letter to be in the nature of a complaint.
As I write this letter, it is 42 days since my energy supply was switched from yourselves to a new supplier. The new supplier has confirmed that the switch took place on 10th September and on that day I provided meter readings to yourselves and the new supplier.
Please supply me with a final bill and reimburse my credit balance to my bank account within fourteen days, having regard to the following:
1. In 2014 you credited my account with the £12 government payment, subsequently you debited my account with the same sum. Please credit my account appropriately.
2. My account portal on your website is showing standing day charges and supply rates suitable for a “variable” account. Be sure to use the correct standing day charges and supply rates appropriate to the former contract between ourselves.
Should this matter drag on, I shall, after the appropriate eight-week period, apply to the Ombudsman.
I look forward to your timeous reply which may, in the first instance, be made to my email address xxxxxxxx.

Yours faithfully,

Worth checking to see if a "Misc credit/debit" of £11.43CR has been applied to your account.

The credit/debit was originally added/removed as £12 (inc VAT) but later added back as a pre VAT credit of £11.43, with the VAT being added to the total bill, giving an effective credit of £12

Good point Tuggy, but there are no misc credits, just my monthly dd.

The £12 credit is not shown in the payments page where the monthly DD's are shown. (i.e. it is not shown on the page:View all your bills and payments

You need to look at each bill generated under the View your bills-view pdf

The credit should be shown on one of the bills like this:

My credit is shown on the above bill dated 21.07.15

Worth rechecking.

On some bills. My daughter had the £11.43 pre VAT credit on her bill and I had it as a £12 credit payment along with my DDs.
• Watchdog on BBC tonight is showing First Utility.

Extra Energy should be on there as the complaints are very similar.

threatening letters, incorrect bills. Then people waiting for 40 minutes to talk to someone on the phone.

I am waiting for the same though I only switched 7 days ago - not 42.

However, worth pointing out that EE can't use the meter reading you gave them to produce your final bill - they have to be sent the opening reading by the new supplier(even if its the same) and gaining suppliers can sometimes take their time over this was well.

One of the company reps (Eon?) explained the process a while back..

Regards
Sunil
