    Just cancelled

Good decision! Hope you've also cancelled your DD with them, just in case...
  • I canceled the direct debit by mistake.... usual threatening emails/letters... I tried to tell them to put the DD again via email but they didn't answer. I finally did it by phone, after a looong queue.

I received an email from them confirming the DD was back, the bank shows the DD back... but they have not collected the last month DD and keep sending threatening letters. Apparently the "debt" (I'm in credit) has now been passed to a debt collection agency (this was after 3 weeks) and I will be charged £50 for all this.

I'm not worried. And in 6 days I will not be with them anymore. But wanted to add one more example of their incompetence.

4 weeks since switch and nothing heard. No more threatening e-mails either since I cancelled the DD prior to switching. Not too worried about losing my credit balance as it is around 40p due to my engineered final reading (they won't really be able to argue it as it was only 20 units and they are looking at 5 months since last bill). Had my first bill from E.On after 3.5 weeks with them after a meter reader came - meter read Friday, full bill Saturday !

Molerat, I never got a threatening letter because I called them and let them know I was leaving and was in credit. To be fair, they never tried to take another payment. I reckon I have a "watch out this woman means business" tag on my account.

At the moment they haven't applied for it yet, just need to keep an eye on it.

  • Same here, bills produced, low DDs and no issues to complain about :)

But... the year is almost over so have initiated a switch to EON saving a further £160! And I thought EE were cheap :)

Fortunately I'll be leaving owing EE ~£80.

    Cheers

Am I going mad or have !everal letter! in thi! thread !uddenly turned into exclamation mark!?

In addition, I note the letters chosen spell a rude word... Has someone at EE decided to fight back?

Stranger and stranger, edits do not have the same problem.

  • How very odd. Same here but also seems to affect other threads on the MSE forum so probably not EE revenge!

Just an update about my dad's EE account.
He started the switch to Isupply and Zog on 9th and 20th September and was told that they will send final bill and refund any overspend.
3 weeks ago I checked the account and they had refunded the 3 bills that he got from them over the 18 months so I thought here we go again. He got an email last week with a new bill and was £58 in credit and that would be paid by DD to his bank by 28th of this month.
Yesterday my dad called me and said the money was in his bank so that was good news.
I was expecting a long wait and he never stopped his DD with them and the never took 1/10/15 DD which people on here have said they have done.
I hope the rest of you have the same luck as my dad.
