Definitely cancel the DD now, write and tell them you have done that and that you will pay any money due to them on receipt of a bill. I did this yesterday because I am switiching back to EDF who have asked for meter readings. the meter reading was also entered on the EE website and in my email to them. They can't stop you from cancelling the DD because you have no proof if you owe them money. My next DD was due on 27th for £88, I feel better for taking control of the account and not waiting for EE to get their act together.

I'm definitely going to cancel my dd now as i really don't want any credit on my account, just don't feel i want to take that risk with so many people having issues with final bills that have dragged on for so long.

Just to re-cap, flow energy advised switch in 2-3 weeks from today, my EE dd of £91 would be due 28th April & we're approx. £5 in credit for charges unbilled to todays reads.

Go for it! Its all about timing, EDF gave me the actual switch dates and yesterday they asked me for meter readings, so thought as my DD is due 27th April its a good time to cancel it. Unless EE produce a bill they can not prove you owe them money, and you are willing to pay up and settle the bill when asked to.. EDF sent me a contract within 2 weeks, sent me a letter about my new DD, also asked for meter readings which they told me they will use even if EE hold up the procedure, so refreshing when everything runs smoothly and just highlights the inefficiency of Extra Energy.

I know how you feel but go easy on the staff. Most of them are just the front line troops and are not there to be abused. With me never once did I get abusive and found the nicely approach works better.

Ok it was a long time coming but in the end I achieved my objective
in getting my final bill and refund.

I get the impression the staff have had enough and simply giving any excuse in order to get you off the phone.
I was PROMISED calls back by select staff in which on returning calls to them they seem to never be available. Im not into the waiting game, more so when it involves my hard earned £££.

What got me going on the phone was the "we only have to legally give you 1 bill"

Seriously, it was a full blown insult considering the past posts.

Yes definitely dont be in credit with them! I've timed my switch just right in that I owe them and can afford to delay cancelling the DD for now as even if they were to take another payment I would still owe them - ha ha wonder how long it will be before they contact me for payment.
  • I joined them Sept 2014, cannot get a bill out of them despite hanging on the phone 20 mins a time, no answer to my e mail despite threatening to go back to EON, it is now April 15th. I also lost my £12 bonus and have paid them £960 already, the standard recorded reply"we are very busy" is a joke, have they no staff? How are we to know if we are saving as this goes on. Wish I had never bothered.:(

    Have you not heard Anne?
You have to work your own bills out im afraid. :p

Believe me, you wont be getting a bill any time soon as EE only legally have to produce you one bill per year so they say. I would imagine EE are processing the legal cases prior to us measly 6 monthers who are waiting on their bill.

I was promised and promised and promised a bill prior to this months DD leaving my account. It never arrived and I havent had a reply to my complaint even after the 10 day response time elapsing.

I have now managed to get the DD reduced after several failed attempts taking over a month and from being polite to EE to resorting to not so polite ways as a last resort.

I would have a good read of past forum pages if you are concerned, you certainly wont be alone.

Just to let yu know my mum in law has been with them since beginning of June 2014 and never received a bill. I'm to battle weary to fight her corner at the moment. However the good news she is £480 debit and that is a good thing. She is happy to wait for a bill.

2 months more before EE have broken their own terms and conditions!

Not an issue in this particular case though, let EE come begging for their monies if a bill ever does arrive!

Npower has run up huge backlog of bills that have not been processed
Customers could be forced to find hundreds of pounds out of the blue
Ofgem opens probe into Npower’s 'prolonged customer service failings'
Regulator says if it doesn't clear backlog it could be hit with telesales ban

Energy supplier SSE has been fined £10.5m by the regulator Ofgem for mis-selling gas and electricity.

EDF to pay £3m in compensation after Ofgem inquiry

British Gas fined £11.1m by Ofgem for energy efficiency delays

Energy giant E.On is to pay out £12m to some of its customers following an investigation into mis-selling by the industry regulator.

Npower must report monthly to Ofgem on progress in reducing billing backlog

It seems that most of the large energy suppliers have got or had problems, we hope they learn from their mistakes and make things better for their customers. The new kids on the block like EE are following suit and it can only be a matter of time before we see the same headlines. The industry needs a shake up and do we see any politician offering to do this in the run up to the election? answers on a post card please. Apologies if I have gone of the subject somewhat.
