I clicked on Google to get reviews of Extra Energy as Simply Switch reckoned they were the cheapest. However, OI take Customer Service very seriously.I am with Ovo at present and cannot fault them, it is only the idea of saving some money that made me compare. However, I assume by the remarks that EE is not a recommended company?? Any advice guys?
I am not saying one way or the other just read the last 1000 posts and make up your own mind. Ovo it aint!0 -

Will let you know in my next posting after the 26th March. On price EE are good.
If you do join, suggestions are to start with a low DD amount to get into debit instead of credit. No issue then if EE dont create you a bill. Just keep your money in your bank where it is nice and safe.0 -
I don't have quite the dramas to contend with that a lot of you have, but I have finally managed to get through to EE and changed my direct debit account over the phone.
I queried how to request lowering my DD as I am paying more than I was expecting when I did my initial application to switch. There was a rather waffled answer given about my bill and reviewing payments. So I asked (tongue-in-cheek) about my first bill - which I know is due start of April. I was told it is in the 'dropbox' waiting for someone to review it and I will get it in the next 2/3 days. (So earlier than 6 months??). Now where have I heard that before????
Have been contemplating switching, but it seems from various threads that all the small cheaper companies have issues at the moment. Though none have such a large thread as EE! Think I might just stick it out another month and see if my first bill does materialise and what it shows.0 -

Because of my experience with EE it has put off ever switching to a small company again. The reason being because its so very difficult to get a final bill. Left in November for the gas and December electric.
I was first attracted to EE on price and secondly their online facilities.
However for me it was just like going back in time. Their online facilities were very limited but I understand its getting better.0 -
Extra Energy have BIG problems. My last 6 months has been very frustrating. I can not wait till September when I can switch again. No reply to emails, promises broken, no bill after 6 months, wrong meter readings at the start of the switch for gas, not what I gave them. Save money - possibly, less hassle - definitely NOTHolding back the years...0

10days ago I asked EE what’s the deal with my six months bill and why I could not lower my DDs,
they said they will need to send around a Metter Man to inspect my house meter to optain the currect reading EVEN THO I BEEN SENDING THEM READINGS EVERY MONTH,
I told EE I’m at work Monday - Friday do you do Saturdays or Sundays they said no !?!?
But to my surprise a EE or someone acting for EE tuned up on Saturday morning to take an EE matter reading . . . . .
all very confusing
:shocked:0 -
If you feel that bad about them, you can switch any time you want.
True, but it can cost you £25 per utility to leave.
EE would soon sort their act out if all their customers dropped their DD amounts in order to go into debit.
No bill = no more money. :j
A year+ and EE dont have their website or bills working. This to me only means one thing. I cannot appease the "ITS A NEW COMPANY" part.0 -

This has been suggested a number of times but how is it done?
The website facility will only allow increases to the DD amount. An emailed request, like all other emails, is likely to be ignored. That leaves the phone. My guess is reduction requests are likely to be refused especially as EE are unable to produce bills.
Has anybody here succeeded in getting a reduction?
(I've now been waiting 81 days and still no final bill and refund. I repeat my advice not to get into credit with this company. Get out before you do.)0 -

They wanted to increase mine at the start of last winter but i was able to demonstrate to them it was not necessary and they were happy to comply.
In many ways this company has many excellent qualities and found out yesterday the reason my bill is continually wrong is because they have a technical fault with my account.
I get the impression they are just as disappointed as I am the final bill has still not been generated.
My mum in law is very happy at not getting a bill since she joined in June 2014 and knows she is in debit.0
