POPLA appeal for parking on a public road

Jimmy - there's a contradiction there.
umkomaas asked you. Did they give you a POPLA verification code in their 'rejection' letter shown in your post #19?
You answer 'yes', but also appear to include a No: 'They didn't give me anything for POPLA '
Umkomaas asks specfically if a popla code was in the rejection letter.

umkomaas is one of the experts and I hope he'll comment on this code-by-phone.
I hope you asked for a confirming letter? If so, appeal time is 28 days from receipt of that.
I wouldn't be accepting a code on the basis of a phone call, made by you i.e. they did not instigate this popla code allocation. You did.

Apologies. They did not give me a POPLA code in their rejection letter. The letter said I had the right to appeal to popla but no other details and definitely no code. As a result I called them and asked for a code, which I have now got. Is it worth calling them back and asking for the code in writing?0

Check the code on the parking cowboys website to make sure it is valid.0

a.s.-no need for you to apologise. We look forward to sharing the shedload due you from elsewhere:-)
Definitely obtain a hard copy, staple it to envelope, then start your 28 days from there, informing them of receipt date/your clock.
As we've said: check that written code here:

as they did not give you the popla code in the rejection letter, complain about it to the BPA as a breach of their CoP and recent newsletter to all parking companies0

Can you give us a link on street view (I appreciate you might feel that pointing out your house might feel uncomfortable but the parking scammers already know where you live).0

Right, here's an update. I've spoken to the city council and they've emailed me a map saying unfortunately the land is private. However, there is absolutely no indication of this on the road where I was parked. I'll go down the signage route and have attached some pictures below. I'm not sure how to post the links so I've just taken off the beginning -if there is a better way to link to the pictures let me know. Thanks.

This is the location of my car when it was given the PCN. My white house is on the left of the picture and the bricked area shows the beginning of the private car park. UK CPM are claiming my car is parked on an access road.
The location is more clearly shown here.

My car was parked on the corner (I moved the car for the picture). The sign shown on the left just says 'private parking, residents only'.
The view of that sign from my car is shown in these photos. It's on the fence on the right, which just happens to be my fence. UK CPM did not obtain permission from me to put the sign up on my fence.

Any help appreciated. Thank you all - this forum is a huge help trying to sort this massive headache!0 -
How sure are you this is your fence ?
You might have a good counter claim here for some new fence panels.Be happy...;)0 -
PS a sign needs planning permission as well, they want a war, give em one.
Check the boundary plans of your property as well.Be happy...;)0 -
99% sure. The land registry can't give me a definitive answer so I'm waiting for the housing association who own the land on the left to confirm that it is. They're going to get back to me but are 99% sure it's mine. Assuming this is the case and I get written confirmation this will surely help.spacey2012 wrote: »How sure are you this is your fence ?
