Three price plans changing tomorrow (18/3/14)
Options
It's been posted elsewhere that Three will be changing their price plans tomorrow (for the better, and also for the worse depending on what you need).
If you are considering Three for unlimited tethering on 4G, you need to sign up tonight.
The headline is that tethering will no longer be unlimited on the One Plan.

Some more details, I think some still to be confirmed:

Right, I can confirm the new tariffs are going to be announced tomorrow.
It's already been leaked elsewhere that 0800 calls will be free on all new tariffs, while calls to 084/087 numbers will be 5p a minute. You will have to change to one of the new tariffs though, of which there are many - including unlimited calls and texts, as well as data.
And we should also know more about the tethering cap, which I believe can be extended in 1GB blocks (£5).
As some people have noticed when getting iOS 7.1, Three now has a different APN for tethering, calling it a 'personal hotspot' and I'm told it will use the same device detection as used when roaming, so the network will know as soon as you're tethering.
This means no way to get around it, or no easy way at least
Some more details, I think some still to be confirmed:
From what I know;
Wi-Fi calling.
Wi-Fi access on the tube.
An add-on (or maybe on some tariffs) for cheap/free access to 0845 etc numbers, and free calls to 0800 numbers.
An O2-style Refresh scheme.
The ability to change tariffs many times during your contract term (with some limits on how much you can downgrade).
A tethering cap (and supposedly with a new APN for iPhone users when using tethering - no idea how this could be forced on users of other phones).
Tariffs with the ability to have unlimited calls and/or texts.
New mobile broadband tariffs, with higher data limits.
More Feel At Home countries (this might be announced separately).

In the official press release they say 0845/0870 calls will be 5p a minute.
But later on they say "From today, customers who sign up to Three’s new plans can call 0800, 0808 and 0500 numbers for free, while all other 08 numbers, like 084 and 087, will cost 5p per minute. These charges typically range from 14p to 40p. Existing customers can swap over from their existing plan without paying a fee and can keep their existing contract end date."
So will 0844 and 0871 numbers only cost 5p a minute also ?

Wonder if they will attempt to block Freephone Cheap Call Access Numbers.

dont know if relevant , but i signed up last week to the internet essential 12m 600 @ £9.90 a month for 12 months , when they sent the confirmation etc , they tried to say it was £12.90 a month , even though the letter stated essential 12m not essential 1m
When i called , they eventually admitted it was a `system error` and apolised etcNever, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0
