2.6 Whilst we will make every effort to supply you with the Products listed on the Order Confirmation, there may be occasions where we are unable to supply these Products because, for example, (i) such Products are no longer being manufactured or available or (ii) we are unable to source relevant components or (iii) if there was a pricing error on the Apple Store Web Site. In such circumstances we will contact you to inform you and may suggest alternative Products that you might wish to purchase. If you do not accept our suggestions then we will cancel your Order in relation to those Products we cannot supply and repay you any money that you may have paid to us in respect of those Products. Subject to clause 11.4 below, repayment of such monies will be the extent of our liability to you if we are unable to deliver to you the Products you have ordered.

Im still in the dark here, Apple have NOT had any communication with me.
To the best of my knowledge ive purchased a drive from a VALUE SERIES priced at £19.95 i had no idea untill i read this thread that 1TB was greater in value to 1GB.
I was merely looking for a cheap good value hard drive within my budget and this one cropped up.

I went ahead and ordered it from a company i believed to be reputable only to find out that not only was my order changed to some label after i had fully paid for it, then it got completely cancled.

I have no idea why, there seemed to be stock available, and there seems to me to be no reason why Apple, after ringing my product through the till and bagging my goods should get up after im out the store and chase me down the road with the reciept and take it back, only to hand me some label. Punch me in the face, take back the label and offer absoloutly no explination for their actions for over 4 days.

This seems completely INSANE in this day and age especialy from a company whom seems to be viewed as profesional in the eyes of the general consumer.

The fact that they have offered me no explination sees to suggest to me that they are well aware that they are completely in the wrong and grasping at straws for some loophole to get one over on the consumer.
I dont believe Apple has a leg to stand on and am completely unable to telephone them in this condition to figure out why.
I feel talking to a representative would do more harm than good because frankly i doubt i could remain calm enough to have any meaningful conversation.

    I agree with daithi84.

Sometimes where lucky, sometimes not. In this case were not. To me it seems apple have protected themselves quite well. By the way they acted with there rather cheeky approach to the matter, I highly doubt we will be able to yield anything as a reimbursement from them.

How would you like it if you ran a store and a bulk of orders appeared for a mispriced product lower then its supply value. Would you honour it? Or would you rather use every possible method to eliminate the orders? Regardless of how large the buisness is, a buisness is there to simply make money. If anything, apple's management are just doing there job protecting there own revenue regarding this matter, even though they had a rather rude/cheeky approach.

I'm not saying people should just give up, by all means we could all learn a lesson from the possible out come, but i'm sure our time is better spent on other things, rather then trying to knife the hell out of a buisness which made a genuine mistake.
Neil, if you ever read this, you are a great big plonk.

    Got an e-mail finally:-

    Dear Apple Store Customer,
We regret to inform you that your recent order for the Iomega 1TB Value Series Hard Drive. Which you placed on the online Apple Store has not been accepted.
Due to a temporary inaccurate pricing issue on the store, the price of the product was listed incorrectly as £19.95. Whereas the correct online Apple Store price is £199.95 i.e. the listed price was approximately 10% of the correct price.
We would like to draw your attention to clauses 2.4 and 2.5 of the Apple Online Store Terms and Conditions under which if Apple cannot accept your Order, we will contact you.
Furthermore, we would like to draw your attention to clause 2.6 of the Apple Online Store Terms and Conditions under which Apple reserves the right to cancel your order in case of a price error on the Apple Online Store.
We understand the inconvenience that this pricing inaccuracy may have caused you, and we sincerely apologize.
    Kind Regards,
    The Apple Store

Hey everyone, Just to let you know where you stand with the Iomega issue. As a lawer, I have been very interested in researching this case in great detail.
I can advise all those who have been affected that you do not have a leagal leg to stand on.
I have looked into Apples T&C's in great detail and have realized they are fully leagally covered in this situation.

    What does this mean?
This means that Apple have the right to cancel the order and in the event that customers have been charged (if order was placed with a debit card) their money will be refunded to them.
There is no point in trying to argue this to anyone as you would be wasting you time and breath!

this is your first post. Do you work for apple? :p

EDIT: Also, the order wasn't cancelled. The order was changed without our permission.

It was then cancelled days after a different order had been placed..

Thanks for that Sara. What about the bits they broke themselves? And the fact that terms and conditions of their own don't actually stop the law?

    Like you, i'm just interested!!

I can't quite see why a shop would be able to get away with so much and the customer is left stranded. Even after foul play by the shop by changing the goal posts to suit them.

From a legality view, it's very interesting, as the customer has not broken the law or their terms. Apple seem to have done both, yet the customer loses out.

Edited to add: i have put this to a real lawyer. Someone who I know is deffo a lawyer, for interest and gonna see what they say! he's already said, as soon as payment was taken, the 'invitation to treat' part is out of the window, they have accepted the price for the item under the sales of goods act. He's very interested in it and going to look further!
