Just received this from Apple.....
Dear Apple Store Customer,
We regret to inform you that your recent order for the Iomega 1TB Value Series Hard Drive. Which you placed on the online Apple Store has not been accepted.
Due to a temporary inaccurate pricing issue on the store, the price of the product was listed incorrectly as £19.95. Whereas the correct online Apple Store price is £199.95 i.e. the listed price was approximately 10% of the correct price.
We would like to draw your attention to clauses 2.4 and 2.5 of the Apple Online Store Terms and Conditions under which if Apple cannot accept your Order, we will contact you.
Furthermore, we would like to draw your attention to clause 2.6 of the Apple Online Store Terms and Conditions under which Apple reserves the right to cancel your order in case of a price error on the Apple Online Store.
We understand the inconvenience that this pricing inaccuracy may have caused you, and we sincerely apologize.
Kind Regards,
The Apple Store0 -
Like many others I accept that they have a get out clause but there needs to be some form of practice put in place whereby if payment is taken then the product should be given.
Its not the consumers fault that APPLE, in this instance, cant proof read their own website prior to publishing the items online.
Yes .........most people did think they were going to get a mega cheap deal
Yes .........most people would have kept it if it was sent out
And Yes ...maybe we have rambled on about this too much but if it was us that had mistakenly gone overdrawn in the bank or missed a repayment with a loan then the company would come down on us like a ton of bricks!
Oh well.......0 -
Me too, the complaint email is being devised.0

Errr It doesnt mention a refund in that email[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Mindware, several people on here have had the money TAKEN me included. My avaliable balance is the same as the balance shown in my statement.
This is different when I put a cheque in. Often my statement will show say £400 credit. but my avaliable balance would be £300 should the cheque have not cleared.
It has been fully taken. Not reserved. Taken.
I'm not going to be fighting it or taking it to court. So long as I get my full refund within a week. They took the money Tuesday. I want it back by next tuesday.
Would also like to point out, were now onto the FOUTH business day and apple STILL HAVE NOT contacted or informed the customer of what they are doing.
It's absolutely mental!! I dunno what they are playing at.
I would like to say again, I am NOT taking this further at this point. I'm simply VERY interested in this whole fiasco. I have never seen a company corrupt something this much!!0 -
I agree with ya Graham.
I undersatnd there are mistakes, but its a bit of madness. If I wasnt on this forum I'd be going crazy! Seeing my order changed to a label writer with no email or word of anything, yet the money been taken out of my account? Only an email near a week after it happened rofl.

Nor does it menton that in the same clause they would like to divert you to, it states that they will get in contact with you before changing anything.
Nor does it mention anything about changing the description and falsyfying records!0 -
I didn't order one of these drives but had a similar problem with Tesco's a few years ago when ordering a Nokia 8310 (I did say a few years ago:D ). Tesco's sent me a lesser alternative which I kept rejecting and eventually contacted BBC's working lunch to highlight the nasty people at Tesco. As many on here have done I got screenshots of the offer (and they also charged my credit card). In the end, after intervention from Working Lunch, they backed down and sent me the 8310 which had been advertised at £100 less than it should have been.
It's all very well people saying it's a mistake but once the money has been accepted there is a contractual agreement. It depends how hard you are prepared to push really. Apple will not like negative publicity so why not try highlighting it somewhere.
Good luck0 -
don't need screenshots now. The email they sent out admits that i originally bought the drive[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."
