Maybe if they got some employees on the payroll, they'd be able to deal with deferments by letter just fine
Their systems clearly aren't set up to deal with DAF applications either!0 -
I am the poster on Legal Beagles. Have to say find it a little creepy that it has been linked here and to the Twitter feed of ErudioEd so quickly.
However, I appreciate it's done in the best of faith but I have just lost my mum and feeling pretty delicate.
To confirm: a letter came from Erudio the other day saying nothing more than
"Thank you for your recent communication.
We have noted your change of address and our records have been amended accordingly."
That's it. I have never been in touch with them as I had no idea who they were til I Googled them.
The rest regarding no loan acknowledgement with SLC since about 2005-6 is on the other post. I had no idea the scale of this companies issues til I googled and it is frightening.0 -
A glass simply won't do erudioed... a bottle?... no, a case
I'm not on twitter, do you know who I can PM at MSE? I wonder if we can get it confirmed via MSE that deferment applications by letter will be accepted in the meantime? Borrowers shouldn't be inconvenienced or put at an unfair disadvantage because of Erudio's inability to send out an admin form. It would benefit Erudio too, as it gives them more time to process the applications, while they sort out their systems so they can manage to get DAFs sent out. A fair compromise, and a win-win situation, surely?
Surely it's impossible to defer without an erudio daf? :-)
Awesome work everybody. Keep going in the exposure of this sell off/administration/omni shambles that is ERUDIO/ARROW GLOBAL BACKED CLUSTER SMUCK:-)0 -

To be fair to Mark Filer, being in charge of 436 other limited companies must really cut down on his time envelope stuffing for Erudio."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

Could be statute-barred? It looks like there's been no contact/acknowledgement of the debt by either side for years - I think the time limit's 6 years (5 in Scotland).
Seems likely/possible from what they posted.
This is also interesting from CAG the other day.

I received a letter from erudio saying:
"We are writing to inform you of the results of our investigations into your claim that your account is statute barred.
"Our findings show that your account is statute barred"
Goes on to say that the account is now closed and that I will receive no further contact.
Here's the thing. I never wrote to them and did not 'claim' the account was statute barred.
I just wondered whether others have received this letter and if it is the result of a mass audit, albeit the wording of the letter is odd.
Seems strange to me that they would take such a proactive step.

@ fermi First thing that crossed my mind on reading that CAG post is that Erudio will be compensated via the 'loan warranties', or another provision in the S&P agreement (paid for by the taxpayer of course), for any loans deemed statute-barred? Only reason I can think of to explain Erudio being proactive in closing the account.
Also on the Legalbeagles thread, Nibbler mentioned Erudio sending out some odd letters lately, saying borrowers had been in contact when they hadn't - that seems like a deliberate attempt to get the borrower to acknowledge the debt (not sure that matters once it's statute-barred, but wouldn't stop Erudio from trying it on).
But why chase some borrowers, and close other borrowers' accounts - maybe the warranty only covers a set percentage of the 'Potentially Statute Barred' loans?0 -

I'm now living in the States and just sent this year's deferral forms back by email. they now want proof of my US income so they can get me to start paying them back. My understanding was that the SLC previously couldn't demand repayment if you were in another country, even if your earnings were higher than their threshold. (mine finally are this year but only just). I am reluctant to send them the proof of earnings etc that they want. Whats the worst that can happen? My credit in the UK gets dinged? I'm a full time US resident now anyway. I'm upset that after 16 years of deferral they goalposts have been moved. do I just stick my head in the sand or do I try and respond to their requests for more information?0

@CrowMoon I am sorry if I caused upset by linking to your post on here. As erudioed has said, hopefully you will find the posters on here supportive.0
