    Just a quick question - I'm living off JSA at the moment and have not had my deferral through and am worried that Erudio will be able to take money from my account. I'm defintely entitled to defer so will there be any repercussions if I cancel any Direct Debit that is set up?

    @simonnread let's hope we start to get concrete answers and written clarification soon

    My plan is to send in the covering letter with my payslip copies and direct debit guarantee. If I am not deferred by the date payment is due I will cancel this guarantee a few days earlier. That way they can d**k me around but can't start stealing funds

    Have you sent the deferment off but not had a reply, or not heard from Erudio at all?

    I've sent them a deferment letter with proof of JSA, and am waiting to hear back. My previous deferment ends on 20th May, so want to be on top of things in case deferment isn't granted by then.
  • Hi there, my two (pre-98) loans were flogged off to Thesis Servicing a few years back (and, after reading these threads, they seem like !!!!!cats compared to the velociraptors of Erudio) although, this year, for the first time ever I'm having some difficulty with them which i hope someone here can cast light on, what happened is;

    Got deferment application froms from SLC in February 2014 (quoting both loan numbers; Loan A and Loan B).
    Filled-in and returned to SLC as I have done for the past 22 years (both prior and post them being flogged to Thesis Servicing).
    This weekend I got a letter from Thesis Servicing (who own both Loan A and Loan B), stating my repayments would be £xx when deferment ends - but the letter only quotes Loan A, no mentrion of Loan B (when everything I've had in the past quotes both Loan A and B).

    As such, does this mean,
    (i) SLC only, incorrectly, deferred one of my two loans?
    (ii) Thesis servicing would have received deferment for both, but only put one on their system?
    (iii) Thesis Servicing are only administering one of my loans?
    (iv) Thesis Servicing only use one loan reference number, when collecting monies for both?
    (v) Do the SLC company still administer deferment etc for Thesis Servicing, or do they do it 'in-house' now and hence the letter from Thesis Servicing telling me my deferment payment is ending next week?

    Before reading some of the horror stories on this thread, I phoned Thesis Servicing but, not realising that the two loans could be being administered independently of one another, I only asked about the one loan the letter/'invoice' is for and I'm reluctant to call again until I've got a better idea of what might have gone on/what the relationship between SLC and Thesis Servicing is these days.

    Any thoghts, very much appreciated.
  • I'm late to this.. and forgive me If I'm covering stuff already discussed.. but I received my deferment at the beginning of March and immediately phoned them after reading the T&Cs.. (which are littered with mistakes) .. they couldn't even answer questions regarding registering the 'debt' with a CRA and seemed puzzled that no-one else had contacted them about the contradictory terms in their credit agreement.. I was told they would amend the form and get a new one sent out.. still waiting.. and now it's impossible to contact them.. I'm going to use the template letter and send them copies of my payslips instead.. I'm not singing their new credit agreement..

    Probably best to speak to SLC first, and then Thesis to work out what has gone wrong. A pain, but the sooner sorted the better.
