ERUDIO student loans help

The pension thing was one reason given for the much lower rise in wages, as employers are having to pay into pension pots for their workers, and so are giving out fewer/lower rises. I doubt that would be it though. If anything, I'd think a case could be made for including employer contributions to the earnings figure.
I meant employees' pension contributions, which are deducted from pay at source? If those contributions aren't included in AWE, they would have to be added back on?0 -
I was starting to think that MSE had abandoned us entirely, I took from the radio programme that Martin is at least aware of what is happening to us all. We need a champion, but I suspect Martin has too many other things to champion that affect more than 300,000 people.
It's a shame that due to all of this I would never suggest to anyone to get a degree (unless they wanted to be a doctor or other profession that couldn't be learnt 'on the job'). Every one and his dog has a degree now, and we all know how bright dogs are!0 -

Look a 7 percent drop in wages has just not happened.
Off course it is a con.
Can't believe people are believing those lying toerags at the BIS.
Remember they said people would not be effected by the sell off.
That was a lie.
What if 300,000 thousand people just refused to have anything to do with erudio?0 -
some companies offer salary exchange schemes for pensions. some of your salary goes straight to your pension not to you so your gross income is less.
but this has been happening for years, hasnt it, so why a big drop in income now.
I am still surprised this isn't much bigger news.
If you take what bis has said at there word, calculation hasn't changed, it's based on known figures. Then surly this means they are predicting a 7% pay drop by jan 2015.0 -
At the end of the day it's not my liability, it's my partner's, who signed up to her loan years before I even met her. They are not taking a share of MY benefit. End of. I don't support my partner, she supports me...and 3 kids. So to try and stake a claim to money that comes to me is truly abhorrent. I'm more than prepared to be a guinea pig in court. National debtline said that at worst the court would rule £1 token payments, given our circumstances. Only problem is our credit score will be trashed and for what? It won't get Erudio the money they want either way. B**tards.
If an individual earns 26k a year then fair enough they should probably have to pay some of it back but when a family of 5 has just over 26k a year (and that's gross by the way, not net) to get by then frankly Erudio should have to stick it where the sun doesn't shine. The problem with the system is it simply doesn't take an individuals circumstances into account. Me and my kids are being punished for something that has absolutely f@*k all to do with us.0 -
From being well in the clear I have now become too close for comfort to the deferment figure.
I shall definitely be considering requesting extra holidays in lieu of any (possible) raise for the next few years.

Unfortunately, they have us by the credit reference scores - ignoring Erudio would damage this - goodbye mortgages, mobile phones etc.
I don't have any issue with paying this money back if I earn over a specific threshold (which doesn't lower by £2000 every year...that's a whole other issue which I will be contacting my MP about) as I did borrow it at the time. What I object to is the seeming inability of Erudio to properly manage our loans and deferments.
If this is par for the course every year I'll not be happy. I hope it is teething problems but I suspect that is naivety.0 -
I guess I'll be joining you in making a complaint in the coming weeks. I'm too nervous about using their form. Maybe I'm being paranoid but I don't want to risk inadvertently signing up to new terms and conditions.
I'm just in the process of gathering together all the income evidence and will be sending it with a cover letter (a tweaked version of something posting on this thread).
Do you mind if I ask whether they've taken any payments from your account or has the complaint put that on hold? I guess I'll have to ready myself for a fight.
I really don't want a big battle but I'd rather do it now than face this year after year.
What a nightmare!
Jelaw: They ain't taking a penny. I have no DD in place. I am coming up to three months in arrears. My complaints to Erudio have not been upheld by them. They have said if I do not sign their DAF I will not be deferred. I have that in writing from them. But I will maintain that I have fulfilled my side of the loan agreement I originally signed with a declaration of my income and 3 months wage slips. The deferment process is not set in law: thats a quote from BIS/Govt. My complaint is with the FOS and I will be sending them the final response from Erudio tonight by email.
I am taking some legal advice about what course of action to take should the FOS side with Erudio.
ALSO who else can I complain to after Erudio's final response if I disagree with it? I remember reading something about it on a thread? FCA or someone?
Don't give these scumbags an inch!0 -
Ive just heard about someone else who has had a DD taken in the last few days after being defered, so just a quick heads up to everyone.0
