My loan is going to be written off in 3 years anyway and they have replied stating that my deferment has been accepted, they are trying to locate my CCA and that they will not be bothering me in the future other than to send the next 3 years statments and then a write off letter in 2017!
Tell them right where to get off.
Great news! I think you are the only one so far who has been deferred without using their form. I have taken a no nonsense line with them but maybe they are just very busy
Well done.0 -
Great news Edwood Woodwood. Getting deferral without using the form is ace and not getting them contacting you (for three years!) will be fab.0

Would it be worth others putting in separate requests for the documents for individual audits that are likely to have been included in the investigation (sorry, I don't know much about the due diligence process, or know if the Government follows a specific framework), but basically anything that might be relevant to us, e.g. compatibility audit, legal audit, risk audit, etc?
Are there any volunteers who'd be willing to put in a FOI request? It's very easy to do via Whatdotheyknow.
Edit: I've withdrawn the FOI request above to reword it, the resubmitted one's here:

I'm sure that the very moment the sale was concluded, Erudio had its DCA army hounding defaulters, they won't be hanging about as that's what they do, and I've no doubt they'll get a good proportion of them to pay back.ElwoodBlues wrote: »Another interesting point - these student loans are exempt from bankruptcy, debt relief orders and individual voluntary arrangements. That must make them the Holy Grail of debt!
That's why we have to fight back against Erudio's sharp practice... why complain, even if you've secured deferment? Because each complaint costs Erudio, every £ out of their pocket makes it less viable for them to continue with their tactics against deferrers (we're already costing them in having to process our deferment applications), and also lets the ombudsman, regulators, Government and media know that it's still going on. If we don't do that, things are only going to get worse.0 -
That's what I thought - ok, FOI request has been sent:

Brilliant Anna. I know some in the forums think this one will be pointless, but i am very very curious to see what it contains. Maybe i am wrong but i guess time will tell.
I think any request shedding light on anything is better than us just guessing and assuming, but i really wouldnt know what to target. maybe others involved in such fields may know the kind of docs we need to try and find to shed light on our different topics of interest around this whole deal. We just need to find the evidence that supports our case.
I also wonder if this due diligence report will mention the Experian Collections network started, run and controlled by Arrow for Experian, as that seems like a bit dodgy concerning the CRA issue and if our details are being passed around without checks...or indeed sold!0 -

I've withdrawn the original FOI request, realised after submitting that I could have worded it better
The updated one's here:

By the way, those of you who have to spend a lot of time dealing with Erudio what you should do is bill them for loss of earnings.
Interesting article below.

Just remember to keep records of every call and letter and bill for your time and internet use too.0 -

I also informed them that for 22 years my account has been operated correctly both by myself and the Student Loans Co so how would a court view their sharp practices within just a few months of ownership?
Also remember, it may be true about bankruptcy etc but they still need a CCA to enforce anything, or even to credit report, provided one doesn't fill in their joke forms.
I'm just trying to figure out how you've been successful in defering, where so many other people (myself included), have been refused for not using Erudio's form. Either there's something different about your case, or Erudio are being inconsistent.0 -

I would also be interested in what might be different too. I just assumed that as he said they won't contact him for three years that maybe it is a disability discrimination issue as some health related deferrals are for three years??? Maybe they are worried about a discrimination claim?0
