All TM and Orange customers are being migrated to EE as you phone for an upgrade as the two legacy companies no longer exist.Hmm , not quite sure how correct that is, only last week I upgraded my wifes tariff, was on an old orange animal contract, they offered an EE contract, but I chose to go to an unlimited Data Tmobile contract. Only thing that I found a little irritating was, that although I was with Orange, I had to start a new contract as they were not allowed to migrate straight from one to the other(orange to tmoblie).
I don't know where GJChester gets that idea from, I'm sure the thousands of T-Mobile and Orange staff working in the 2 separate corporate entities would have liked to know they are working for companies that no longer exist

Both Orange and T-Mobile show up as EE on the phone, and all of the shops are now EE.
But I've heard nothing of having to move to EE.0 -

Correct,
However, EE are currently on a mission to get all current T-Mo/Orange customers to upgrade/move over to EE 4G services. This is done by only pitching EE services and by stating that EE is now T-Mo/Orange.
This is one of the reasons that EE have seen a huge growth in their 4G product but a mass migration away from their 3 brands overall.0 -
Ah.
Me, I don't see the point of 4G; the data allowances are to small (or expensive) to make it worth using.0 -

They don't exist as such in the UK. Both are now wholly owned subsidies and trading brands of EE, your right in that both will remain as legacy organisations with all the staff and backends branded as Orange or TM. They are now all employees of EE.
TM and Orange will both exist like that for a few years till systems get sorted out and merged, but by migrating people at contract renewal time to the EE platform they have a slow change over, not a sudden problem of moving xx million customers in one go.0 -
I simply don't trust T-Mobile/Orange to sign people up to the contract they ask for when they renew, open to errors and too many stories on forums about trouble, just not worth it. Best to sign up to new contracts online.0
