People think they can get something for nothing from big chains - compensation, refunds, free products, free delivery & extra discounts. When Tesco don't give these out the same people get upset.

Some people take, take and take.

It often boils down to jealousy as Tesco make more and more money year on year and these moaners aren't part of the success (not like me).

It would also be interesting to do a quick survey on which people complain about Tesco and keep shopping there. It would be quite high I think if the questions were asked.

These people are often keyboard warriors. They'll slag off Tesco til their keyboard smokes but they wouldn't dream of actually complaining to someone's face in a Tesco store - it's all emails to Terry Leahy, calls to customer services, letters to the store manager - the wimpish alternatives to actually dealing with the issue.
  • Yes. I think it could all be down to keyboard vent - yes, I know, whattyou are going to say! I know, I am guilty of keyboard vent too! I personally have never had a huge problem with Tesco - I don't shop there regularly - I pop in and get what I want. DD local store a Tesco Express - if goods not there when coming home I accept as I do in other stores and say well, they have sold out! I shop in Lidls, Asda, Somerfield, the Co-op. Ok I might they might have what I need but I can't always expect freshly baked bread from local wee store after 5.00 pm - they have to go with consumer demand. I have the up side too - sometimes these products are very well yellow stickered so I get a bargain!

Hmmmm seem to remember you getting very upset on Friday (when I hasten to add I stuck for you) about Tesco! LOL

There was, for a while, a spate of threads where posters were demanding all sorts of revenge for the wrongs they had perceived they suffered, sackings, re-trainings, personal apologies from the CEO etc etc. I wonder if the OTT reactions are a by-product of 'consumer revenge'.

Dreadful contracts?! Doubtful, my GF has worked there 3 years and is now a manager for an Express - we have around £9k of shares too, having paid about £4k for them.... Not too bad I wouldn't say - especially when you also think about the job flexibility, the prospects, the discounts (in store and with partners), the pay, the pension....

They do squeeze suppliers, I agree. But, they are a business and their aim is to make money, which they do nicely. Suppliers take the brunt but they have the same options as us, to sever contact. They would most definitely be worse off without having Tesco as a customer I reckon.

I thin the call centres going abroad has a bit to play in this. DH gets so very upset when he phones to pay credit bard bill and has to spend 20 minutes on phone because the Indian guy can't unterstand Scottosh accent.

Please folkm. don't go there, don;t criticise me. I don't have a problem personally. My posts were about apparent other ones. Why do do need to bring up - we surely move on. OMG I have reacted again which I shouldn't

Just by the by - the pm'r about a wee posting grammar mistakeagain today - please get a life. i m going to get you dissed if you do it again. This is abuse.

    Once

I think the Indian call centre is because the credit card is administered by RBS, which I don't condone! I too have had communication issues, which is why I call during the day so I get a british call centre.

Coincidentally, the clubcard call centre's in Scotland - I can't understand a word they're saying! ;) (joke of course!)

Often the Tescos threads have nothing to do with Tescos and are standard practices. The latest on here "Tescos Again" you'd think it was something Tescos have done (and had full control over) but then find out it's just about the normal refund policy on cards.

So do people just look for fault in Tescos even when it's infact nothing do to with Tescos at all. It's not the first Tescos thread on here I've found to be like that.

You have to remember that it's something like £1 in every £5 spent in the UK is spent is Tesco. Therefore there are likely to be a higher number of complaints for Tesco than any other business.

Personally, I've never had an issue with them - as long as I keep getting my Clubcard points!

When something stops working, they have discontinued the stock I think I am well within my rights to get a refund. Further, If I have bought the product 4 months previously and have brought the receipt as well as the offending article back I also believe I am entitled to get a refund of money, not a refund into my account which will take upto 5 working days.

THis is the first time I have complained about Tescos, I shop there on a regular basis and had nothing to complain about previously - I do not expect anything for nothing, what I expect is goods fit for purpose, Tesco gave me a guarantee for this - I expect them to honour their guarantee and if that guarantee involves a refund, so be it.

    ps.

I did complain to the Electrical Manager about this and she also stated that it was an unfair policy - that timmne is FACE TO FACE contact, SHE suggested the "wimpish" alternatives ie emailing customer services because she couldnt get through to them.

And yes, I will still shop in Tescos, as that was the only problem I have had with them.

:rotfl: Chrisj2006 - when did I make reference to you?!!

Your case sounds reasonable to me, why are you so upset? Did you dream that I called you unreasonable or something?

I'd be more concerned for the poor delusional sods that keep on going there.

I have to point out that my nearest supermarkets, not much alternative where I live, are 5 miles and 10 miles away respectively and both are Tesco's. There is an Asda a further 5 miles one way so not particulary wanting to travel 15 miles to shop I have to remain a poor delusional sod.
So think a little before posting comments like that!
Oh, and thanks for your concern.
