This is based purely on the fact that England vs Netherlands at Euro 96 was probably the best international football match I've ever been to and as they gave me so much enjoyment I might as well support them.0

Or, have a look at this flowchart for a Plan B if you're not in a sweepstake (it's hugely stereotypical but quite amusing in places).
I'm no Football expert - I'm more of a Cricket and Rugby bloke. However to make things a bit more interesting I've been making small punts on Betfair for the World Cup. I'm currently just over £100 profit, and correctly predicted the score for England's last game. I also managed to get the Spain v Chile score correct. I really rate Chile, and think they may even progress into the Qtr Finals.I've got England to lose 1-0 on Tuesday at 14-1. Hopefully I'll lose:rotfl:0 -
Chile were great trev. I loved the video showing the miners. I like all the countries that sing the second verse of their national anthems acapella (I don't know what ours is).
On a separate note, I love the fact that the Japanese clean up after themselves with big rubbish sacks after each game. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

I fancy a glass of wine. I have a new deckchair. I'm wondering whether to enjoy it all on the back mud or the half finished block paving watching the traffic. Decisions!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I like that!

Ah, cake overload thread.
My birthday parties would typically be the neighbours' kids, at ours, at tea-time. We lived in a Close, with 24 houses - and all us kids played together. Probably 6 of the houses had kids, so a birthday tea was probably for about 10-12.
When it was birthday time it was the same kids that came round ... and we went round theirs on their birthday.
Probably a cake packet mix. We had cheese sandwiches, probably some jam sandwiches, some cheapo biscuits and orange squash. And the compulsory Jelly and a tin of fruit ... probably with Carnation Milk as we didn't have a freezer, so no ice cream. We'd have played Pass the Parcel.0 -

Mum probably made up a Greens packet mix for the cake. We had cheese sandwiches, probably some jam sandwiches, some cheapo biscuits and orange squash. We moved when I was 10 and so that was the end of parties as there weren't kids where we moved to and so anything similar to inviting anybody round stopped.
My last birthday party was probably, therefore, my 9th.... or any form of party "for me".
My mother made beautiful cakes ( when she was about and of a mind to) but the dogs stole them without fail. After I was eight I stopped celebrating birthdays really. I find days of group celebration far more fun tbh.0 -
We divided to aim at painting five fence panels today. For some reason the fence panels are proving nightmarish. I've only manage one and a half a lone. Today between us we managed....three. And are covered in paint.
Annoyingly have also discovered biodisc is playing up so showering is off the agenda. Hose in the garden from now on till we can get it sorted.0
