???? What X-rays was she trying to block? The X-rays that are your radiotherapy? I've no idea if sunscreen would have any effect on them - I doubt it but it probably depends on what wavelength X-rays they are - but even if it did, why would you want to block the rays that are being used to treat you????

    Well done Mrs Gen! :T:T:beer::beer::j:j

Ummm, is forensic accountant what chewy is?? Maybe that's the reason for his suggestion that this might be Mrs Gen's dream??

Feeling glad vicariously and in retrospect for your friend with the 3-bed semi in Streatham. Sounds much nicer than a flat in Brixton. Hope she has been very happy since she moved.

Forensic accountant was originally what Mrs Generali was trying to do but there are about 20 grad positions across Australia so it's too hard to get into directly. It really is her dream job.

I hope my post didn't come across as rude or grumpy. I tried really hard for it not to do so but suspect I failed. **gutted smilie**

I think she was suggesting zinc cream. I told her I would consider her opinion. I didn't say the full sentence of course which is that I consider her opinion to be that of an idiot. I spend too much time around Nice People these days clearly.

Looks like Mrs G will be in the mood to be kinder this weekend :)
Just what the Doctor would've ordered.

Yes. I suspect that I will get the red carpet treatment this weekend which is what I could do with quite frankly.

Actually it's auditor but she could easily become a forensic accountant post-qualification!

It's with the company she most wanted to work for too.

Don't knock it. She's achieved her dream. It doesn't matter how prosaic it may seem. I once worked with a woman who just wanted to own her own 3 bed semi in Streatham. Some people were really snide about it when she finally sold the flat in Brixton and bought it but I was made up for her (not saying you're being snide BTW, just to be clear).

I wouldn't mind being PM of Australia although I'm not sure I'm cut out for the democratic process. I'd rather stage a coup and install my self as Lord Protector of the Blessed People's Republic of Australia and New Zealand and the Nicer Bits of Indonesia.

I am biased, obviously, but starting off in audit worked out really well for me, I think. I worked for a smallish firm which had a lot of charities as clients. Most small charities don't want to waste money on a full time accountant so they get someone's aunty Mabel to do their bookkeeping. Unfortunately someone's aunty Mable can't really handle things like computers and has no idea how to keep records so they always ended up being horrendous messes which I had to sort out. I loved doing that sort of thing which is what set me on be track to forensics. But there's plenty of other career options that 3 years in audit will open up to.

I agree with what you say about goals and if you can be happy with a 3 bed house in streatham then you're probably going to have a better life that someone who simply will not rest until they have bought a £25m Georgian mansion overlooking regents park as they will almost certainly never achieve their objectives.

Michaels, how are you today? I only suffer from hayfever when the pollen count is really high but I'm really feeling it today. I'd quite like to rub my face off :o

Just trying to get an insurance quote - and they asked a very specific question "has it flooded within 150m of the house?"

I think the answer is "no".... but I've a ton of paperwork here, the searches etc, and it's really confusing as to [a] what the map means what the correct answer to that question is [c] whether the map I've got even goes 150m at all.

It looks like a hatched area on the map = actually flooded.... and there's no hatched area showing. So I'll need to paw through all this paperwork overload to try to get exact answers. If it has flooded within 150m, then insurance is not available.

Map seems to indicate it would/could flood in a "1 in 1000 years" event only.

Sellers response to "has it?" = "no".

Edit: Ah, looks good to go. River/coastal, no flooding to date anywhere in 500m. Potential for a "1 in 1000 years" event. Surface water historic flood events = completely clear to 240m.

Biggest danger point for flooding is a "1 in 200" year event potentially could occur at 30m away for surface water only.

Hard to tell... no good asking me, I'm useless.

Top tip though: also paint a splot on another wall as the colour comes out different based on light/shadows.

PC HD has 4MB of space available.... oops. Better sort that out.

Edit: Bit the bullet and removed Adobe Professional ... 237MB. I never use it and since I 'acquired' that the world's moved on and there are tons of ways to create PDF files, which is all I was using it for. Back in 2005 it was harder to edit PDFs etc without such software.

Edit 2: That didn't end well. It wanted a reboot at the end, for the changes to take effect.... did that and when it rebooted I logged in and all I get is the desktop picture ... no icons.... and pressing Start button doesn't bring up a menu. Rebooting ... if in doubt that often works.

Edit 3: Still battling with it. That didn't release 237MB of HD space.... PC's got 80MB now.

Been rebooting and waiting .... and now Windows wants another update... looks like the original update it got earlier.

I'm colourblind so have no clue. Apparently some of them are either a bit pink or green, I can't tell which ones, apart from the blue one they all look like different shades of the same colour to me!
