  • I'm really, really proud of OH.

He is running the marathon this April in London, for charity, and he's been taking the training very seriously. He's now running half marathons 2 or 3 times a week, taking about an hour and a half to do 13 miles. He's definitely taken it seriously, and I think he's wonderful.
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

'Sadly', our green bins are only emptied once a fortnight so the closest I got to gardening this weekend is having a bit of a picnic in the garden :)

Oh, and I treated myself to some flowers too:

I figured I deserved to splash out on the £1.05 that they cost :)

ITV News have just said that the search area for MH370 now equates to 10% of the planet.

How did this happen post 9/11 ? A 777 flying virtually un-noticed across the airspace of no-one knows how many countries. It's astounding.

I can't believe none of the phones on board never 'spoke' to any base stations as the plane flew by - me thinks there is still info not being released....

I noticed that they declined to divilge to the families how they knew that the plane had changed course, nearly a week ago. It seemed they only really started speaking once the USA, halfway across the world, started indicating that they might know more than the Malaysians.

Cleavers, yes. I've also heard it called sticky willy, and goose grass (no idea why that one).

Goose grass in my family too.

Let's hope there is some - I can understand circumstances in which it might be best not to publicise any clues to its whereabouts, or the extent of the information available. It's all very scary, though. :(

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

I had a 'get a grip' moment earlier - had just finished watching Countryfile (Sunday eve ritual), and was looking forward to a nice bit of Call the Midwife. I was quite disappointed to find out that Call the Midwife isn't on (guess the series finished last week or something like that).

It also occurred to me that I think I go to sleep earliest on Saturday night of all the nights of the week.

I think I need to make some lifestyle adjustments :rotfl:

Although interestingly the military radar suggested the plane climbed from35k feet to 45k feet (above the standard max cruising height for a 777 of 43,100) and a quick google suggests that this might make a big difference to whether a mobile call could be made successfully...conspiracy theories are us....

Interesting. I hadn't thought of that. Thanks. Being at 45k feet is a more hopeful reason for not being able to make mobile calls than most of the alternatives.
