It's already rained this morning.... looks like the grass fairies were having a half day as the lawn's not a lush green yet. Maybe it takes 2 days.

Assuming that you have no desire to die with assets in hand, presumably one those deals where you get an annuity in return for giving up your house when you die sounds like what you need.

Just back from B&Q. Yes, that involved setting an alarm.

Slightly disappointing, was expecting hordes of people shoving each other of of the way. Instead there was me and one other bloke waiting in the car park. Good job I only got there a couple of minutes before opening!

Anyhow, I know have my hammer drill :) And some chain so my hanging baskets will be closer to eye level :)

LOL... you got up early for a hammer drill? I don't even know what one is or why I'd want one.... ah, hanging baskets. I don't intend on having those.

Its a drill that will drill bricks. Hopefully I'll never have to go drill shopping again :)

(the other grandpa was conscripted as a cop, as many police had been called up which I find hard to believe).

Perhaps it wasn't because of police being called up but police volunteering for the army etc.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

The 'Doing more stuff I like' campaign continues. I made puff pastry for the first time today, getting The Girl to help with the tournage. I used it to make tarte tatin as I'm also trying to get to grips with caramel. Kids are currently banned from the kitchen whilst caramel is cooking.

They can come in to the kitchen when I'm making caramel once they are able to shoot a gun, i.e. they can keep concentration and not have to have their name said 4 times before they realise that something might vaguely be up involving them.

Are you among the Jewish NPs? Writing "g-d" like that makes me think you are?

OH is arranging Danny's Brit, now his forceps marks are nearly gone. Fortunately, I don't have to attend, so I won't.

    .

'Scuse the cultural gap but what is a Brit?

Looking at BMI charts I'm at the top end of "normal". In the past I've been less..... I was down to 8 stone 3 in about 2004. Unfortunately, when I look up ideal weights for my height it's quite sadly quite a bit less......

So I'm happy floating around 9.5 to 10 stone..... and just accepting that I'm a lardy piggy who eats too much :)

I am 10 and a half according to this morning scales.

    Not good at all:(

I just need to move more and eat less. How is that so bl**dy difficult? I am unlikely to miss a meal..but positively avoid exercise.

Mmmm...I may start the 10000 steps thing again..when i did it previously that worked for me. Need to motivate myself and not let the acute and diabetes stuff help me let myself off the hook.
