Speaking of black holes, we've just done another 2 hours of DDs room. :eek:Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Take into account that the sheep I have are Hebridean sheep that were breed to basically look after themselves on a scottish mountain for ten months of the year... any Hebridean sheep that couldn't get itself out of trouble wouldn't live to tell the tale.
These sheep are temperamentally more like goats.
They are also very, very good at escaping and making you look like a d**n fool
Not many paddocks on mountains I'd have thought, or man made hazards.
But yeah the more we mess with the breeding the more profound the issues we crate. But more meat or milk or whatever per death or grain usage. You win some you lose some, and we lose less of we consdier them other. If you like its not that I necessarily consider them people so much as I don't consider us not animals, which is the same really. I accept I am just a species of animal, but a lucky one, and I accept they have characters and personalities and likes and dislikes and some I get on with better than others. Much like any one of my species I might meet. Some I find more or less to my taste. I've never felt romantically inclined to one, but I do feel moved to nurture and friend ship.
The inverse of course are fat little ponies or sheep designed to live on mountain sides with mean grazing and lots of exercise bought in to wet lush paddocks getting problems.0 -

When I asked to learn percussion aged about 12, Dad's first question was "How noisy will the practice be?" :rotfl:
When the answer was "Not very much at all", because I was hitting sticks onto a piece of cotton on top of padding, nailed to a small piece of wood, then I was allowed :beer:I start radiotherapy on Tuesday. I'm really not coping well with the idea.

Very best of luck tomorrow Gen - we're all metaphorically holding your hand....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

Quite smug.
Despite early start and long drive I did get some pottering in the garden, a few things planted, some other things placed ready to plant.
The roses are just AMAZING now. A wall of colour. I'll do a dead head swipe tomorrow of the repeaters I hope.0 -
Time for me to bore you lot with some more garden pics

Really well done - so much progress!lostinrates wrote: »Last time I was at the new consultant hospital the nurse who took blood was the nurse who saw me from old new consultant. She's really nice. Anyway, I wrote a letter to the group that own private hospital saying how lovely she was. Today when I got their she gave me a HUGE hug and shown EVERYBODY the email. Apparently it had a more tangible benefit for her too
.
What a lovely thing to do. It's so easy to complain, and forget to praise, so when we receive praise it is wonderful. She'll have a smile on her face for ages as a result of your email (as well any more tangible benefits).

I won't eat rabbit for this illogical reason. Mum once fed me it when I was still living at home - I did eat it but with tears running down my cheeks; she's never served me it since.
I had an interesting morning. 4 of us were being trained on how to use the evacuation chair to get people from the upper floors of a building in the event of a drill or emergency. I am fairly petite so did struggle with some elements until I'd improved on some of the techniques ...
After learning how to open and close the chairs, and wheel people round in them, we then progressed to the practical session in the stairwell ...
Each of us had a couple of goes with a partner. I was pretty comfortable being moved down the stairs by a chap who's used to moving Tesco stuff around as a delivery driver. His face remained calm while being moved by me saying "Help!" :rotfl:
It does look far worse than it feels, though, and I'm pretty confident that if I needed to get someone out that I'd be able to do it.0 -

Is this today now?
Thinking of you Gen. Hope the treatment and aftermath aren't too bad x0 -

I did a bit of deadheading tonight. I am so grown up.
Had a minor panic last night - I put out some of my veg plants yesterday. I bought some pop up planters last week + cleared the area by the shed so merrily planted them up yesterday. Then yesterday evening when I saw the weather I wondered if they'd survive a rain shower. Did a bit of googling, and realised I should have broken them into life in the great outdoors a little more gently. No way I can move the planter though (it's not rigid). I'd also bought a bit pop-up cloche, so I moved that over my little plantlets. They look ok this evening.
I'm not cut out for single parenthood

Sorry, but I'd be less use than a chocolate fireguard... I'd be in complete meltdown mode, screaming, flailing arms and screaming "fire/help" and running down the stairs, leaving the rest of you to fend for yourselves

Ironically, of course, wild rabbit can be a superbly ethical meat.

I find skinned they look like my cats which is psychologically off putting. But they taste good.
Edited out some not tasteful stuff.
. Even I have limits. 0
