Just got back from walking Borrowed Dog. Not my kind of dog really. I like dogs that run about, so they get more exercise than I do, so by the time I take them home I feel they've had a really good run. This one doesn't, much. If another dog comes and tries to play with her, she bounds after it for a few yards and then gives up. If the humans aren't walking she mostly just stops and stands, looking round the park at the other dogs running, but not doing anything.lostinrates wrote: »May my plumber do his own plumbing.

Yes. That will do veeeeeeeery nicely as a sincere hope I think. May all those he pays for work apply the same care and consideration would be a little dramatic perhaps. Maybe not.
I'll think about it before hoping it hard.
An interesting wish. Could be used for both good and bad plumbers. What has he done? Thanks for asking. We are absolutely dreadful! Both of us.
Sounds awful. Hope being able to sit at the computer today is a sign that things are on the mend.
I wonder if it's more than not washing the fruit and veg. Perhaps he is a carrier of something, along the lines of Typhoid Mary (although not typhoid, of course).Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

My FiL has an utterly filthy kitchen and I refuse to eat there unless I'm cooking. If I am I arrive 2 hours early to clean first and I never use ingredients from the kitchen except salt, pepper, oil and flour.
Mrs Generali eats there now and again and is invariably laid low. The Generalissimos occasionally spend a few days there and don't come back sick. I suspect it's because they have take away every night but I don't want to accuse.0 -
Thanks for asking. We are absolutely dreadful! Both of us. We went to friends for supper on Monday, and they poisoned us. We have both had the most awful gastroenteritis since then. This is the first time I have sat at the computer since Monday, as it's the first time I have felt well enough to do so. I live in hope that we will get better fairly soon.
You may have gathered that I am feeling grumpy, wretched and grumpy! I imagine that the friends are absolutely fine, or at least the husband is, and he's the one who does all the cooking. He must have a cast-iron constitution, because I am fairly certain that he doesn't wash any of the fruit or veg. He's notorious for doing this, but it's never been as bad in the past.
His wife suffered from terrible tummy upsets for years. Eventually, she went on a special diet that she prepares herself. Miraculously, she's recovered completely! She ascribes that to the special diet, whilst I wonder....

Grr, why cannot I post a link? Google image 'pond grill'. You'll see loads of options.
Right, who else asked me something I haven't delivered?0 -
Big envelope from solicitors.... full of complex guff to read. There are some small legal issues to be pursued still. e.g. whole development in breach of earlier covenant, so there's an indemnity in place; no idea/mention of who/how pays for sorting out the private drains etc which exist as it's all a private road; sellers have never had the gas system etc checked/serviced.
There's more minor stuff - just operational stuff like me checking if everything works (windows open/etc) and I've got a boundary issue to get sorted....
But it all looks "pretty much as I expected", so nothing unexpected/awful has been exposed.0 -

Unfortunately she is also the sort of dog who evades capture when it's time to go back on the lead. The owners tell me the only way to get her back sometimes is to bribe her with crisps. Crisps???? I thought salt was bad for dogs? I have bought some salt'n'shake crisps and have successfully got her back on the lead by using them unsalted.Do you know anyone who's bereaved?
