Thanks lir.
I'll have to keep an eye out for chairs. No idea what kind of chairs I'll end up getting - only that it won't be a matching set
I think it's going to need repainting (at some point, no time soon) as the chip on the top is quite noticeable and I won't be having a tablecloth (sorry PN).
Despite the bodged underneath, and whatever I do with the finish, I really like it as a table.
I'm blaming Mr Van-Man for the fact it's now in the house. He said 'if you can find someone practical...'

Think the neighbours went on a half term holiday......mum shouting at the kids outside (and I have my window open) at stupid o clock this morning. I was not an impressed cookie as I couldn't get youngest to settle until near 4 this morning.
Josh has found something he quite likes doing, hot air gunning old paint off a door, he has to be fully supervised whilst doing it because of his poor memory but he's actually quite good at it, albeit very Aspergic about it, everything has to be done in equal lines and to perfection...he couldn't stop until symetry was achieved! We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Do you want to send him round to mine? I don't mind supervising him, and feeding him. Nor do I mind symmetry!Still striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.

He even makes cup of tea and coffee Tahlullah! Mind you, if he likes it too much, he might also move his drum kit in......We made it! I had use of a conservatory once for 2 months .... it was brilliant... never had the use of one before, nor since, and it's really something I liked to use.0

It's all about being in the space first, then standing with a tape measure and thinking it through, then carrying those measurements round until I find "the one" where part of the equation is time-based.... so I'll end up with "you'll do".
On the 'small space living' theme and tables, I've got an old drop-leaf table which, when both leaves are down, is probably about 9-12" deep. It has 2 drawers in the central column - one on each side - and a door on each side to access the rest of the column where I store things like table cloth and place mats on two levels. It seats 6 when fully up, but that rarely happens.
I know what you mean about standing there, thinking, with tape measure in hand or mind
