Dropped OH off at hospital this morning and then drove to the posh alert hospital for the consultant to look at my knee. The prognosis is ruptured ACL, torn cartilage (medial meniscus whatever that means); operation needed to fix it. 3 weeks off work apparently. I'm already planning whether to watch Jeremy Kyle or Jeremy Kyle USA first.
Drove back to Kingston hospital to pick OH up - she had an operation this morning. It took me 45 minutes lapping their tiny car park to find a space. Despair really set in when I saw someone who I had seen parking earlier get back in their car and leave after attending their appointment...
Needless to say when I came out 90 mins later with OH the car park was only half full.0 -

It doesn't help that the hospital is next to the train station so all the side streets for miles are yellow-lined etc.:(There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Boxed sets that come with the current Sky packages. All 4 series of Games of Thrones or something else totally incomprehensible. Buildings insurance price sounds good, contents is about 5x what we pay for 30k of contents.
Poor show, I was expecting you to recommend some cashback deal whereby they actually pay you to take out insurance. There is a minimum level of cover - so having fewer belongings doesn't decrease the amount. It's a daftly high amount of about £30k for mine too.... even if I only actually own a folding chair and a kettle.....
If that is true, I wonder why you bother with contents insurance. It probably isn't true in that curtains and carpets and kitchen electric goods and TVs are all contents.Pastures, Saga offer reasonably priced home and contents cover and when the people here needed their help (we had a flood due to a burst main) they were one of the better firms to deal with.
Which also entitles you to some free shares if you subscribe to the IPO.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I guess, to replace everything I own, brand new, wouldn't come to more than £2-3k, but I'll be buying stuff once I get the house .... pushing that closer to £5k - and it'd be just daft to not insure.
You probably own a couple of handbags worth more than all my possessions .....0 -

There's a good intro to composting from the RHS here.
From what I remember you will have a big back garden - have fun in it! Gardening is an ongoing work, sometimes it can feel like a bit of a chore, but worth in the end to have that great outdoor space. Actually I find weeding very relaxing - there's something meditational about it. Good thing, as we still have plenty to do at the Allotment!!! :rotfl:
I just need to get on with more seed sowing!
I'll be a planting & amassing a large-ish veg patch Maggie. But I'll be having a proper go at lillies too. Will be looking to plant some other flowers too mind.
Thanks for the composter link. FWIW I compost pretty much everything! It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Game of Thrones. seasons 1 and 2 are well worth it. Then there's Breaking Bad, The Wire, the Sopranoes or catch up with the Americans or Fargo. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
You can make a lot of money begging... certainly, more than minimum wage.

Sitting in hospital with dilated eyes. I'm struggling to see what any of you are saying, hope this is legible.
Very throuroughly work up. Plebotomist kept apologising about amounts taken and that I now look like a very , very poor drug taker. Lovely, lovely woman.
Looks like I'm going to be in Bournemouth for a couple of hours in the next couple of weeks so meet up might be possible there, I'll see hwhat I'll be having done and when and if I'll be a fit state for chatting.
Nice doctor. Liked him. Referring me to another one. Sigh. I swear, they ALL want in on me. He did say he was quite surprised some of the tests being done haven't been done.
Today I have peed, been drained of blood had PERFECT blood pressure readings! and an ECG ( they wouldn't let me look at that). I have also had MRSA swabs.
That bloody lumbar puncture is back on the cards. We discussed the risks specific to the issue I have and he agreed its risky, but explained Why its going to need to be done and why it should always have been done under specific conditions in my case. So I'm cool with it now, because he was honest.0
