I bet I'm past it.
You'll be about there now I reckon. Don't know if that's cheery news or not!

I have no idea whether it is illogical or not, but I have a phobia of germs on wooden spoons and chopping boards. I don't use either, preferring plastic alternatives. DH uses a wooden spoon, but I really dislike them as they are not coated and just seem too porous. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

I also have issues round rolling out pastry - and the top would have to be scrupulously scrubbed again and again and again and all manner of "anti bacterial" cleaning processes applied to it first. And then I'd worry about whether I'd cleaned the top of the cleaning materials....
I think, maybe, a combination of using a processor, then rolling out pastry inside cling film might be the solution. But the solution is only required if I'll make use of it.0 -

Cling film will be fine.
My kitchen isn't immaculate, but is clean enough, and noone has become ill from my cooking yet. OH at work is a different story, I will make that clear.💙💛 💔0 -

We are polar opposites.
I would be more worried about the anti-bac.
Very happy ingesting Spirit family bugs, very unhappy at the idea of anti-bac chemicals.
It has been said that in this house, dog hair is an ingredient:)
I made a cross between greek salad and salad nicoise for lunch. We heated up some HM Foccacia form the freezer. Mr S had made it, complete with dimpled top.
DD remarked that she had hoped dad had clean fingernails prior to poking the dimples into the dough.
I then ran through a litany of disgusting things he could have done with fingers prior to baking. We happliy ate the bread safe in the knowledge that he is a wholesome chap and would not dream of such things.0 -

This disgusts me when I see "fine dining" on the telly - those posh chefs..... they touch and poke at every piece of somebody's meal before taking it to them. I'd rather have a £5 slab of lasagne that's not been poked about than a £50 meal that's been pawed by everybody in the kitchen.0 -

I have both. I love both. My issue with silicone ware is I can taste it faintly in what I have cooked. This to me seems at least as potentially hazardous as wooden spoons/germs.
I feel exactly the same as spirit about anti bac stuff.
Bathing dogs off today's list, kiwi had a tick in his ear and after what was obviously an experience that upset him seems mean to bath him too. He's going to groomers this week, so while I like to do the worst of the work for them, I think this week out of fair ness to him its not going to happen.0 -
Spent the afternoon up at my parents house cutting down a tree and feeding it through a wood chipper. I need to get a wood chipper. And a garden to grow things in to feed through the wood chipper of course.0

Cannot you just visit your parents to help we their chipping more regularly?0 -
And re: getting garden (and house), we said we would exchange now if we could complete by 6th.
They came back and said 13th. We said no, 6th.
I think if they insist we will say if they want any later than the 6th then the offer is £3,000 less - which is about what it will cost us to rent a 2 bed flat for 1 month. Hopefully we don't need to go there as that will probably wind them up a bit.
Of course since the penalty for failing to complete is only £80 a day they may agree to complete on 6th and then not complete. Perhaps I should get solicitor to update penalty clause...0
