I was going g to say you definitely need more than 1 bathroom and TV watching space and possibly more.than one kitchen with more people but thought that might vet a posh alert....

Looks very like it! Although the blurb says, " It has been designed by its current owners with no expenses spared to create a wonderful hi-tech fully integrated smart home with a multi-room high-end home entertainment system that integrates music, television, movies, games and online content and lighting in all rooms."

    Blah, blah, blah......

I have no car again today, I want to get out and work somewhere. At the pub we went to on saturday, they have small tables with two chairs against the walls on a little walkway along the canal. The chairs even have woolen blankets draped over them if your legs get cold. It's a perfect spot for me, I think. I'm dying to try it out :)

Bought 170 square metres of used block paving yesterday on eBay. It was little more than £1 per square metre, but we'll need an articulated lorry to deliver it and the boys will have to handball them at least to get them palleted. The seller hasn't messaged me back yet - they might be disappointed at the price, but not many people have much need for that much paving or the inclination to try and shift it!

Sounds great - are window boxes a planning permission problem, or a practical one?

OH reckons the difference between "shabby chic" and "primary school art / craft work" is usually just that you pay for one and the other arrives free in your home if you have a family member of the right age.....

Planning, changes to listed building. I think that's fair and right at the front, ( where don't really want to put anything) but the back of our house is pretty ugly tbh, brutish. All I want for the bathroom is a metal bar so I can put pots or a trough on the window sill withoutadditional them blowing off or falling on people, and on the trough floor i would prefer a wall mounted one under the newly rebuilt of no historic worth utility, ( just so I can have stuff that I can see).

I think your oh is not far from the mark sometimes. Some of the stuff is actually quite charming individually, but makes me shudder at sameyness and identikit and lack of soul.

I'd love antique wire work ones, would look sweet, but obviously cannot afford them, and our windows are odd heights and widths (not in a charming way at the back IMO, but a bit of an ugly one,)

Under the garden room window I have a plank of wood on a couple of bricks, but the window further along is a good bit higher, for example.

But the study window could just be one that matched nothing at all. I could get a wooden one and stain it, I just fancied something a bit......more hokey. Edit...like this

I'm certain it is, now. They've mixed up the colouring of two units and not inserted some of the verticals to make it look different.

I'd agree with that. Same with "artisan" - it means "wonky stuff", which is easier to make that polished/finished/non-wonky stuff... but "artisan" on the label means it's 3x the price.

Depends how many people - with, say, a family of 6 you'd probably need more than one bathroom and sofa, and at least a bigger kitchen, if not more than one.

I did come across this house half a mile or so from our place, and although not one bed, more than half of it seems to be stairs or lift - very wasteful of space! It's 7 floors, only 10 feet 8 wide, and although it says it's 2045 sq feet in total, each floor actually has only one room, just over 100 sq feet in size, with the rest being a loo, lift and stairs on each floor.

I hadn't looked too closely ... checked out the ducks - and what an odd bath! Is that a sheer drop into a bathtub, or what? You'd fall down that if you were p'ssed.
