Do you think you'll have exchanged by then?0 -

It's a different world.... I live in a world where nobody's ever offered to buy me supper (or even a kebab) ... and I get all my own drinks too.lostinrates wrote: »... people offer to buy you supper a lot.
Maybe you also need to be prettier than me for it to work

Heart bleeds and all that :P
Look for a holiday let that'll give you a good price for a whole month or whatever you need. They'll be dead quiet from 17th until early July so possible to cut a deal somewhere.0 -
Well, that too ... but it's so low class to not stick to one's word. You've been on MSE long enough to know you don't have to move out....stay another month, there is little the landlord can do about it.
Englishman's word is his bond and all that.
Gotta play fair ..... karma watches.0 -
I feel a documentary coming on - 'Earn 200k and homeless!!!'
I honestly don't know how he manages.....
It must be tough living so close to the edge, below the poverty line and all that.....
£200k is probably the sum of my entire lifelong earnings income.... the sum of ... in total. 30+ years of work ....0 -

I know, but they've let the place to someone else and morally I don't want to sit tight as that will likely result in the new tenants being homeless instead. It would be the letting agents fault if we did refuse to move out though - we said we didn't want to extend the contract, they asked us when we would leave, I said "don't know" and they have proceeded to not s21 us...
We will probably have exchanged by the 17th so hopefully won't be too long. Storage isn't expensive and we may take the opportunity to stay in a hotel near work if it isn't for more than a couple of days. Just a bit of a pain having to move twice.0 -
I'm watching that. He was on one of those TV Reality programmes, Educating Yorkshire I think it was.9pm ch 4 programme about a headteacher taming wild pupils.
I'm always amazed by progs like this. Not just that the wild can be tamed, but how these head teachers are spotted at interview.0 -

Oh, I've never flirted... wouldn't know where to start! No clue how to do that at all...
Nobody ever said you're supposed to flirt to get offered stuff. Why didn't anybody tell me??0
