Just looking at the Ikea menu .... there's some great sounding food on there!!!

A 6 item breakfast for £1.50 could be a good way to start..... the chickpea/cauli biryani sounds tempting too .... meatballs are 10-a-penny these days ....

Maybe the secret to life is to buy a studio flat round the corner from an Ikea - and eat there every day ..... has to be a studio flat so one's not tempted to then walk round Ikea and bring things home.

I'm getting quotes for back doors ATM. :(. I feel quite like buying one off the peg.

    .

I've watched loads of telly programmes of wealthy people buying/viewing houses online ..... they can diss the layout, the size of the kitchen, the size of the rooms, the decor, but I've NEVER heard anybody reject a house for "oh, but the door's only off the peg, it's a dealbreaker"

    I've been Money Tipped!
I was up late last night reading boring stuff.

Then, I was up so early this morning that the pigeon wouldn't even look at me to have a drink off the teaspoon.

Burning the candle at both ends used to be more fun I am sure.

Its not that its off the peg:D. Its that it will jar with the door next to it because impossible to get something similar.

I want something that looks right, because I can see the door from my cheese room , dining room to be and not yet rebuilt drawing room. I'm happy for it not to match, because its a utility door not a grand one, I don't want a weird looking front door type back door! But a sort of smartish rustic one.

I also cannot quite decide whether to go for one door or another stable door. The stable doors are brilliant in the Cheese Room, much easier to open than windows. But makes it less plain.

I love stable doors... always have.

Is it wrong to feel something uncomfortable under yourself, digging into your belly as you're lying down ... then to reach down, discover it is a small crisp you were eating yesterday and must have dropped... then to eat it?

    I just did that :)

Only if you subsequently discover that it's not a crisp!

Doctor thinks I've torn one of my cruciate ligaments probably the ACL. Need an MRI. If it's that then reconstructive surgery and 6 months of really boring physio and strengthening exercises. If it's not that then my cartilage could be shredded instead but he was fairly sure it is a cruciate tear.

Tried to book an appointment with private consultant - longer waiting list than NHS!

Oh no! Sounds like just what you don't need when you are on the verge of moving house. :(
    Wow, just wow.

If you were trying to sell a 4 bed flat for 1.25 million, do you think you'd try to have photos which didn't include only a week's worth of dirty washing, an unmade bed and a filthy anorak?

Description says it is currently occupied by tenants. Clearly the tenants don't want it to sell. Not sure why that should make some of the pics be out of focus, though.

He's done active service so I suppose might have won them for fishing someone out of the North Sea or something like that. Perhaps they set the bar lower for Royals to get medals. You or I have to seize Paris in the face of thousands of enemy machine gunners.

There are loads of "campaign medals" that are given to "everybody who was there" for a particular place/time, regardless of what they did. Doozer's found out for us that his are the two Jubilee medals, given to everybody in the armed services at all provided they had 5 years' service at the time.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I think think it is reflective of other stuff going on in my life right now though.

We are in the middle of changing all our downstairs internal doors, something I can't get too excited about. I just went to the website our guy recommended and picked one out of the few he chose, they look fab. My mother was horrified that I had not gone to see what they look like first.
