He's banned me from waiting for him at the finish - he doesn't know how long it will take him, and he doesn't think standing around waiting for ages at nearly 36 weeks gone is a good idea.
I think I might very well ignore the ban. Can't leave him to finish on his own, can I?
That is love isn't it? Putting the solace and comfort of the other one before your own needs.
Wish him well for tomorrow from me please.0 -
I feel like I've done my bit to boost the local economy for this month.
That sounds like very satisfying shopping. Lots of 'bits' that all improve something different so lots of opportunity to admire them and congratulate yourself on good decisions.

I had a little shopping fest of my own today in the two major villages in our Hampshire valley.
There was a fab toy shop and I bought an easter present for next door's grandson and a couple of presents for great nephews/nieces for next Christmas. I will put them away and not find them until January.
Pastures I bought you a house to be warming gift...unlikely to be on your list of needs. Can you PM me an address?0 -

It was satisfying
Your lamps sound a lot more tasteful than my ones with birdie bases
Over the course of this week I've scrubbed out a kitchen cupboard, chucked some of the random stuff that had been left in it and cleaned the rest (I might need a collection of unmatching mugs). I've put all the random stuff out of the way on the top shelf which I can only reach standing on a chair, and have now unpacked another box. This one contained my tea collection. I have an incredible diversity of teas for someone who rarely drinks the stuff.0 -

Which way round, though? Him ignoring having us there at the finish for me, or me ignoring standing around being there for him?
I will. He's going to bed now, having finished mooching about aimlessly (and having finished packing, too)....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
That Marathon thing's been going 34 years, but it's mostly Londoners who know about it ... to the rest of us it's something we see on the news when it's over
When is it?0 -
Tomorrow! OH's start is 10am.
Always featured largely in my childhood, because church became evensong that week instead of Matins. The starts are around Blackheath, where I grew up....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
