Today I saw that thing you were looking for in the kitchen shop and grapped you one in case you haven't got one yet. I don't know what to do about getting it to you. (If you'd let me post it I mean!) let me know before tomorrow night where I can send it !!!!!

I'm thinking of tackling our pyracantha. Does anybody have any suggestions for suitable armour? We have about 20 feet x 6 feet x 2 feet of the ghastly stuff. I'd enjoy getting my revenge on it by feeding it into a garden shredder (a large one) but I'm not sure how to get close enough to it to cut it down?

The best armour for Pyracantha is not to be anywhere near the prickly bits. This can be achieved via Extendable Loppers (Link is an example, not a recommendation. You can find other types of telescopic loppers that are cheaper, but I do like a ratchet lopper). You use the loppers to cut, then pick the cuttings up with the loppers as well and never get anywhere near the prickles.

What a nice day we had today. Not to hot, not too cold. Just right for the garden.

Today I have been mainly digging out the compost heaps. We've got four compost bays made from pallets near the vegetable bed. I emptied two of the compost bays, wheeled it onto the veg bed.

I'm a bit behind on the task... got a third one to do tomorrow.

    Also, grass cutting.

Loving the new home. I took my shoes off at the door and the carpet feels soft and plush underfoot. Very nice design Doozer, thanks! I may have to buy one off plan.

Kitchen looks good - wish I'd had the instant boiling water thing installed when we did ours - forgot to look at it again at the crucial moment. :o

It's 2 weeks today since we went to the amazing wedding in Cambridge, and I'm just surfacing again (not helped by dear GrandTwins visitation last week).

Wedding was in Anstey Hall, and we stayed there overnight after. Our room was huge, with ginormous mirror and big twin beds. High ceilings with chandelier! :rotfl: No full length mirror for me to check my outfit though. :( But it didn't really matter.

Took photos of the chandelier, and also the completely bonkers ones in the room the Wedding Meal (Fish and Chips) was in, which we also had breakfast in following morning. I do think LiR will love the bonkers chandeliers, and maybe even the one in our bedroom, but I can't get my camera to talk to my computer properly at the mo so those pics will sadly have to wait... Probably until I get new laptop (currently looking, but would prefer not to have Windows 8  ).

    Enough of my news.

Generali, sorry it's been so painful for you. I hope your results are good. Sending you the proverbial Vibes for Tuesday.

LiR will miss you, hope you have a beneficial time away from the Internet and that you have some nice hot baths before we see you after your time away.

So much want to say to lots of you all (even though not been posting I follow every day, even when we were away, but hard to post from a Kindle Fire ;) )

LemonJelly, so glad your house buying is moving on apace. Scary times in some ways, but I'm sure it will be worth it in the end, and worth the current stress!

Hugs to you all Nice People from chilly Liverpool.

    Quality OP doozer! :coffee:

So, I believe I've finished week 1 of the course (everyone here has gone out, so taking advantage of some alone time/procrastinating from packing). Frustrated I can't start at week 2 yet, as I was on a bit of a roll.

It is just the video lectures & quizzes isn't it? :o (Were other stuff not going on I'd be going for the distinction I hope, but time might get in the way, so have elected the "standard" version).

Yep, video lecture and quizzes only for the standard version. I am considering going for distinction as I have a topic in my brain and banging on the edge trying to get out.

Enjoy Dan's lectures, but the second guest lecturer spoke way too quickly.

Oh, and I didn't see the bee...

Sorry, ETA jelly, there has been some confusion over the quizzes. It is the separate ones in the side panel you have to take, not the questions as you go along. I'm sure you realise this, but wanted to mention just in case so you don't miss deadline. There's a bit of chatter over the confusion on the course fora.

Really enjoyed that, thanks. Not the type of music I would listen to normally and I've never heard of her. Which is just what you want from a recommendation.
