Really enjoyed that, thanks. Not the type of music I would listen to normally and I've never heard of her. Which is just what you want from a recommendation.

She was one of the vocalists in Zero7 (if you remember them), but has gone on to write loads of songs for other people (incl. Britney!), and has sung on some fairly big dance tracks:

Yep, video lecture and quizzes only for the standard version. I am considering going for distinction as I have a topic in my brain and banging on the edge trying to get out.

Enjoy Dan's lectures, but the second guest lecturer spoke way too quickly.

Oh, and I didn't see the bee...

Sorry, ETA jelly, there has been some confusion over the quizzes. It is the separate ones in the side panel you have to take, not the questions as you go along. I'm sure you realise this, but wanted to mention just in case so you don't miss deadline. There's a bit of chatter over the confusion on the course fora.
Yep, done the quiz in the side panel.

I did see the bee. I suspected something was up (Derren Brown has done a similar thing on one of his tours) I stopped doing what I was told & watched the bee, & realised what was going on. I also noticed the other change before it was mentioned...;)

edit - agree on the 2nd guest lecturer btw.

Yup, got into her through Zero 7. Colour the Small one was the first album of her I got, but I have a few...

I did the 1st lecture quiz:

You submitted this quiz on Sat 15 Mar 2014 9:42 PM PDT. You got a score of 15.00 out of 15.00.

I'll do the reading quiz in the week.

Sad to see that Tony Benn died. I used to love seeing what costume he'd choose and the adventures that would eventuate.

Later I have to work out how the hell you dispose of this quantity of oil and sort it out. :)

Are you using liquid oil? If so, there may be a place to pour it at your local recycling centre. No idea what you do with it otherwise. I have a chip pan - the sort you put on the hob not the sort you plug in - but I use the kind of fat that's solid at room temperature. With that, you dispose of it when it's cold - you can just scoop it out of the fryer into whatever you usually use for disposing of food waste. But it lasts quite a while before it needs changing - at least if you don't use it constantly!
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

    Well done Gen.

I did it on Friday and got 14.75 (dropped a quarter point on one of the multi choices). It was something that was shades of grey. I'm not going to do it a second time to try and get a better score.
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Pah - was hoping to have a last look round the old place but I see that SC has done the honours and I guess the locks should now be changed....

Thanks for the answer re my flight conundrum, seems a short trip to AMS could save me at least 1500 x 5 - crazy world we live in, I blame the computer algorithms.

We don't deep fry, it seems to not be that great an idea health wise, a fire risk and also always makes the house smell bad - plus throwing away all that oil after a single use seems wasteful. I am semi tempted by an Actifry/airfryer but suspect we wouldn't use it enough to justify the space it would take up.

LIR do you have a fire blanket in the kitchen? You should.
    I think....

I went back to change an answer as a further question gave me a clue to an earlier answer.

Deep fried food once a month seems no worse than orange juice once a month or having more than 4 units of alcohol on NYE. Everything in moderation including moderation.

    Blame UK tax laws.

Coupled with, how many families would fly over to Amsterdam and then back to Heathrow to save money?
