Crickey, I've just caught up and have to say this thread is eclectic at times. It seems to be about Cucumbers, Gay Sex and house buying at the moment...

    Cougettes with good egos?

No, it's courgettes (didn't you read Gen's ratatouille recipe?:p), gay sex and house buying ;):D

Well, yes, but to be fair "Cucumbers, Gay Sex and house buying" just sounds better to my ears than "Courgettes, Gay Sex and house buying." On the basis that Cucumbers carry inherent innuendo. Courgettes just don't.

Pottering in the kitchen an slowly catching up after my trip to the shops. Glass of wine in hand, what a lovely afternoon :) Doozer is home, mainly sleeping and now dog walking. The kids were peaceful, notsomuch now but I'm keeping my air of calm.

I made the parfait. It smells and tastes right. It's in the fridge, doozer is mightily impressed with the gift I've made for him. I have never cooked liver and I had to buy frozen today so I think the pieces were smaller than they needed to be and it's not perfectly smooth, but I don't know if that would be too processed? It's definitely edible.

I like Rhapsody in Blue. For a slightly naff reason that my
Mum used to play me tapes to go to sleep to. Richard Clayderman's greatest hits was one, along with John Denver & Don McLean, Leonard Cohen, and then U2's The Joshua Tree, Fairground Attraction were added later.

I'm unconcerned with people's sexuality. I'm thrilled that if you choose someone to marry and spend your life with, that you can. Sex means nothing to anyone other than the people partaking in it together and marrieage is so much more. There is nothing wrong with binding yourself to one person, of any sex. A friend of mine from a long time ago will potentially be in trouble with the C of E bishops as they decided, the day after he got engaged, that priests aren't allowed to marry someone of the same sex. It's a human rights issue for him. It's all bonkers. He's openly gay and living with his partner. He's clearly great at his job, preaching love and running an inclusive church; who has the right to give a !!!! if they're married?

Do we have any homosexual nice people?

Yep. Lurker (of very long standing) though, so maybe that doesn't count.

Pleased to see things are looking up for you Generali.

Whew ... found one at last. Now Generali will stop thinking he's the only half-gay in the village :)

You count, I'd say. But we'd love you to join in, as I am sure you know as a long term lurker.

Can I ask, what prompts a long term lurker to read for so long, presumably enjoy our 'company' but not feel they can/want to join in?

Can we do more to make you feel welcome here?

Oh, quick flip back to recurring subject.....lighting.

    No
To long ago I bought three beaten metal shades from b and q reduced in a sale. They are over the alter and chest of drawers in the cheese room. The warmth in the light has made the room look much better and the one led bulb is significantly better in them that the equally bright other ones...

They can stay a while. Ok, they aren't the lights I loved, but they weren't a grand each either. Main light still to be compromised over.

Dh has been bring this stuff home recently

I know what it is,( and guess gen does because his experience is so much better than mine and I have so little in this area of cooking) any one else? :).

I don't really know what to do with it. Friend's mother used to make chicken soup with it. I'd never seen or noticed it til DH started bringing it home.... Res p cannot eat it, neither can I now, because of potential side effects.

    Wow. Hello blin :)

I didn't consider the possibility of long term lurkers, didn't think we were interesting enough, but there you go! I lurked on a thread on another forum, years ago without feeling that I had anything much to add.

Feel free to carry on lurking, but being a nice person is not exclusive, and nice people are always welcome, you know that.
