I love ratatouille and I love lavender. I cook lamb with lavender on occasion too. However, I also like it cooked what gen would probably consider over cooked. ( rat, not lamb I was talking about there)
I like veg raw, barely cooked and in some cases over cooked..

If I go soon, I can come home and braise it with some of the wine that lemonjelly bought me. Nice people styleHave it later tonight with the rest of the bottle. It all falls apart with a fork. You'd like it.
Sounds like a job for a slow cooker: something you have to cook slow/long and you're around but have to go out for some hours. I find the main problem with slow cooker recipes is that the length of time they need to cook is many hours less than the time one is out of the house on a working day0 -

I have seen suggested the use of a plug on timer. Some slow cookers have a timer for on.
Other thing is some slow recipes the time is a sort of 'minimum indication'0 -

I use mine with a plug in timer. So it cooks for as long as required and then switches off. I always start it early and then have to rewarm in the microwave when I get home. Better than starting it late and the raw meat sitting about all day waiting to be cooked.Still striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.

We had a sheepskin rug years ago. Avatar Dog got stressed by the fireworks and dug holes in it so it had to go.neverdespairgirl wrote: »Hadn't even thought about it from that point of view - it could, however, also be indirect sex discrimination, as (I presume) people are more likely to look like Mr Doozer if they are male?
My ever darling infant woke at 6.15am.:mad:
Yes. It would depend on the sex of the successful not-looking-like-the-boss candidate, though.
Isaac is 8, isn't he? That's old enough to start teaching him "If you wake up early, you can get up and [play quietly/watch TV with sound low/look at books/etc] but you can't wake up Mummy and Abba until [insert appropriate time] unless you're ill or hurt or something."chewmylegoff wrote: »Mortgage offer letter arrived this morning, valuation happening on Friday, finally getting somewhere.
Left my bag on the street outside the pub last night... Luckily they found it so off to pick it up now.
Good news about both. You are clearly on a roll!Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

If you use cuts like beef shin and lamb shank then they'll happily work overnight or during a day at work: beef shin on low for 8-10 hours works just fine.
Chicken in a slow cooker for that length of time would turn into a ball of wool.
Perhaps you should go the other way and get a pressure cooker..?0 -
We have sheepskin rugs too. They aren't faux fur or animal print though, they are real and plain coloured.0

Love cauli and broccoli ... never had roast pumpkin but prepared to try it. Love parsnips and carrots

Massive fear of fire and fear of electrical malfunction fire .... I don't set timers.0 -
Love all those veg. All of them.
I just adore courgettes, And aubergine. Aubergine is very sensual and modern varieties are not bitter. There are certain things I look for in a partner, those who vehemently disliked the texture of things like courgette and aubergine probably wouldn't be other than friends.
I cook quite a lot of middle eastern food, and last summer my favourite meal was a Nigel slater suggestion of courgette ribbons with pesto0
