MOT test for 7 seater Chrysler Voyager
It is time for our Chrysler Voyager MOT test.
Could someone clarify if a 7 seater car must have all seats present in order pass an MOT test?
The row of back seats in our car is broken and we've taken it out as we don't use them. It is expensive to replace and we have no use for it anyway.
Thank you,

It will be fine. It's quite common in the Landrover world for rear seats to be taken out of a Discovery for MOT0

We've got a Ford Galaxy and my OH forgot to put the seats back in for the MOT. It was mentioned on the form that the seats weren't there but it wasn't a problem and the car passed OK.0

It its not there it cant be tested. Item that is-not the car itself0

I was told when I had my MOT, that with part time seven seaters like the Zafira and C4 Grand Picasso that if the rear seats are folded they are ignored, if they are up the are included in the test.0

Ive had Zafiras for 5 mots they have never had the rear seats up for the mot.0

Hang on, how comes we havent had the "if its fitted it must work" fable yet??0

If it's fitted (as standard) then it has to work, however if it has been disabled or removed (and was designed to be removed from day one) then it isn't regarded as a testable item.Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit a wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it0 -

It depends on the seat, on a Zafira where the rearmost seats fold into the floor and weren't accessible, it'll get an advisory from me, if it's the seats behind the front seats and the backs were folded down, the backs would have to be put upright to see if they secured in the upright position. If the car only had the front seats fitted, I would log on the test as a seating capacity of 1 seat excluding driver.0 -
On the MOT of our Mazda 5 the advisory noted: "Rear seats not in place to check".
In fact there were loads of advisories. Mainly "Unable to check due to plastic undertray."The man without a signature.0 -
