Oh, thank you Gettingit...that's fab - don't ask,don't get, so will pop that down on mine - the wrost that can happen is he/she says no and looks at the housekeeping with a bit more detail
.
I think you're allowed about £10 per couple for haircuts (although if they've ever been to London one has to wonder on that one - if you can find me a hairdresser for women in London that does a basic trim for less than £15 (that have all their fingers and eyesight still :eek:) then you're cleverer than I - but having boobs obviously makes our hair far far trickier to do a 1" buzz crop on :mad:) - if you've got children I would say at least £5 per child every 6 weeks, if you're outside of London (no kids here, so not really used to looking at the prices).
I think (but sure I will be corrected if wrong) you are allowed some allowance for medicines that aren't prescription (eg, aspirin etc) so you could put down at least £10 a month for that perhaps? Like Richard says, if you don't use it, excellent, but i you need it, and haven't put it down, you might get stuck again.Do not feed the trolls please.0 -
haircuts = £10 each + £3 each child.0

Toomuchdebt - Is the mount for your TV licence correct?
I know it's only a small amount but I just wondered how it is £21 per month if it's £135.50 per year.
I used to pay in full anually but decided to switch to direct debits this time.You have to pay double for the first 6 months and then it drops to £11 ish-at the moment it's still £21 so that's what I've put down.Debts Jan 2014 £20,108.34 :eek:

I agree BAAB
Very well put indeed! I myself have been the victim of a zealous OR, and its not pleasant when tight figures are cut down even further. This is why we slightly overestimate in anticipation of the inevitable.BCSC Member 70:j

Toots,
Bat has already queried your approch here and I think you've seen why I/we encourage people to be realistic in preparing budgets.. It's not because we're encouraging people to cheat, far from it, it's trying to ensure people are realistic. I've been preparing forecasts and budgets for far too long now as part of my various business / career choices and human beings always underestimate expenditure.
That's not a problem if the head gasket goes on your car and you're looking at a £750 repair bill; pay for it on a card. People facing bankruptcy and living on a fixed budget with no access to credit don't have that luxury.
You have to accrue for the possibility of future a expense; if that expense doesn't materialise then for certain another one will.
