They are cheap. Checkout the roadtests. Someone commented on the noise and said it appeared like they forgot to fit any sound deadening material.
I think they road tested pre-UK models.
And even then, apart from the noise, came out quite well I thought.
There was no noise from the one I tested and I spent an hour on my test, even on Motorway.
It was quiet, fairly quick and felt great, so I'm amazed at the negativity.
But I get what your saying about parts, but of course, there will be a replacement car whilst waiting won't there?
I probably need advice from someone who has one perhaps, rather than someone who just don't like em. No offence intended.0 -

Looked at that. AWD drive version is £23,000+
Haven't got that much.
But 16.5 maybe-what version and how did you get them down from £19,000 to £16,500?0 -

The ntec model. The book price is around 17.5k. I just went to the dealer on my birthday And said can I have a discount as it's my birthday. They said OK.
Does it have to brand new, I'm sure there's some 4wd cheaper ones knocking about? An opinion is just that..... An opinion0 -

The negativity is due to the fact most on here pride themselves on keeping decade old bangers on the road, and can't comprehend the fact someone might want to drive something new,
I'm surprised forgotmyname hasn't suggested you buy a mk3 mondeo instead, like he does in every other car buying thread.0 -

Considering ops wealth - a mk4 would be better

Well, your friendly local Chevrolet dealer won't have a lot of incentive to give you goodwill fripperies... The Vauxhall dealer might try to sweeten you, but there's no guarantee.
If the dealer is dual-brand, then there's a stronger case, but you're still going to be on the dealer's goodwill rather than anything GM-backed, I suspect.0 -
So which review said the road noise was bad? I have read 4 reviews and the only main issues they mention is the loud diesel engine and poor ride. Those two TBH is no big deal at this price point. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Apart from the pulling out the UK market, are there any other catches do you think?
Who steps up to the warranty, who services it if they are pulling out of UK?
Depreciation - you are buying an 8K car 1 year/5000 miles early.
Been there, done that :-(
Even a quick look at Autotrader says you can get a pre-reg 14 plate with 50 miles for 14.3K and that is before negotiation.0 -
Servicing can still be done at Vauxhall. It is just a different looking Mokka. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Not diesel 1.7 AWD you can't. I have scrutinised Autotrader.
Nearest match is £16,000 but NOT AW, which is an extra £2,000 normally, or £15,500 for a pre-reg 1.7 AWD
But pre-reg means you won't get full value from insurers for your car if you write it off and re-sale value is hit hard by the 2 owners, so that's not really a valid point?
Lots of people won't buy pre-reg because of those 2 main reasons, hence the mark down.
I would even argue that the depreciation will be that much, where do you get that figure from?0
