Yes. They are completely useless and incompetent.

Bills should still be paid on time. Relationships are two way. If customer service is poor then move.
  • This has happened to me too in the past week GingerBob.

Whether or not utility companies should report to CRAs - a green symbol on your report is always a good thing!
  • so many muppets on here who bang on about a green thing on your account being a good thing ,that,s bull ,,how come i have had a credit score in the top 5% since i started Having to use these immoral robbers ,,and yet for the last 30 years of my life i have not had utilities recorded ?
if you watch F1 you will see Experian sponsoring Wiliams ,,so they need more and more people to pay to use their service, you will also see the poor being penalised by rip off bills and what if they cant pay,, they are stuck with the same company forever because no one else can will touch them unless of course they are on the expensive option of key meters. It is also worth remembering that company's like Experian are part of the problem for ID fraud . I know Landlords who are very concerned about this due to dodgy tenants using their name to get services,.
  • If i apply for a new visa credit card tomorrow they can see that i use NPOWER (or i did) Some one explain !!!!!! that has to do with Visa..Lets say that Visa buys into a competitor , will they ignore that information or spam me and mail shot me etc ,,,of course they will ,,after all thats the main aim now CASH COW EXPERIAN SELLING EVERY DETAIL TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER.

And a red one is a bad thing. The problem here - as I've tried to explain in this thread - is that bottom feeders like NPower are colour blind.

but if your account is paid when due, wheres the issue?
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Thanks for all the replies (wow) What I'd like to know is of my account is in debit during the winter and in credit during the summer, which most people's are, is it a negative against my file to show that i owe money even if the account is in good order??

The fact I've had no gas account set up with NPower for over a year and probably owe them about £700 because of their own incompetence scares the hell out of me now i know they're on my credit file, but i don't see why I should be penalised when its not my fault.

I think it's usual for dual fuel arrangements to be registered as two accounts as each will be a separate agreement. I have different account numbers on my gas and electricity bills even though they're with the same supplier. Importantly, the start date shown should reflect when the account was opened not first shared with the CRAs so if it's a mature account your credit rating should benefit from this.

The start date is shown on my accounts with NPower, but only 1 months history. The other three years is missing, so hardly much use. The full history would have been more beneficial.
You may question anything I say. Just be polite, otherwise you go straight on to my Ignore List, which funds a good old fashioned knees-up every Xmas. Cheers;)

Provided it was correct, which for NPower there's every chance it wouldn't be.
