May stop those who cant be bothered to pay culture
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

All of us pay the cost of bad debt in our bills. Those that grumble the most normally are often the offenders. As paying bills on time is a separate issue to customer service levels. As far as customer services goes I vote with either my feet or my wallet.

N Power, administratively, possibly the worst company to deal with in the UK. OP, I would take this up with the ombudsman - I know that I will be doing just that!

I've just checked my online Experian credit report and noticed that as of 9th March, Npower have starting reporting to my file. I don't know if they have been doing this previously, but I've been with Npower since summer 2013 and it's only just appeared on my file this month.

    Just an FYI
Aiming to pay off £50,312.94 in less than 3 years - Starting from December 2015
Current debt total: £32,756.02 (as of 1st March 2018)

You should read the t&c's all suppliers have it in there but have never enforced. Believe it or not the fos will have no control.

If people pay their bills on time, they wont have issues

No, no, no! Please read about Npower, one of the worst companies in Britain from numerous angles. I'll say it again: THEY ARE INCOMPETENT. I would say the chances of them placing erroneous and damaging data on your credit file is - moderate? But, you won't know about it until you come to apply for a mortgage or something and get declined.

It's common sense; the more data that's placed on a credit file, the greater the possibility of something wrong and damaging being put on there. Not long ago credit files contained data from lenders - people who lend you hard cash. Now, at the instigation of the CRAs they contain much more, from a whole range of other organisations such as service providers. You only need to look through this board to see the problems people have with erroneous data being reported about them. This is only going to increase, as the CRAs with their voracious appetite for personal financial data run riot.

So, when you come to apply for an important financial service and find yourself declined for no good reason, and when you check the file you find there's something on there from a utility provider such as NPower that's causing the problem, don't complain.

Been with them before and not had an issue, but as you know good feedback is never seen.
