Let me know what areas you're looking at and I'll see if I can find anything that would fit the bill. The caterers will bring all the cutlery and clean up after- you will have to pay them extra, and if you're having a lot of guests they might need extra staff to serve, but as you can shop around you should still be able to find a good deal.

As for taking the tables down I guess they might be willing to do this, but again at extra cost. Might be worth considering asking the best men and bridesmaids to help out with that though; it's not going to take long if they all pitch in after all!

EDIT - Just seen you're in the Midlands, same as me. This village hall is in Warwickshire, so not too far, and the best I've seen so far. It's got a large kitchen and grounds so you could have your bouncy castle.

I also found this lovely cottage nearby which would be a great place to stay the night:

Thank you that does look ideal - we are in Derby and a few people don't have cars and are coming from out of town so ideally it would need to be a bit closer but I will put that down as a backup incase we can't find anything closer. :-)

In my experience, quite a few smaller venues won't take bookings for more than 12 months ahead. Maybe that's why ...

Even if that is true that's no excuse for not listening / not responding to e-mails. I've chased them up twice now and was promised a call back that never happened.

Not to worry, I'll see if I can find anything similar around the East Midlands :)

Aw that sucks! :( I really didn't think village halls would be that booked up already. Are there any other dates you'd consider? We want a to attend a specific event on our honeymoon so we're looking at booking the weekend before- but if we can't get that I guess any other weekend that month would do.

Just had a thought- can you get married on 6 June so you have the wedding date you want, but book the venue on the next free date they have?

You could still have a non-legal ceremony if you'd like people to see you get married.

Oh I really didn't think that FD.... saying that the honey moon is already booked for 7th lol we really shouldn't plan stuff like that before we got the wedding sorted but hey ho...

Well update :-) I am not sure if I mentioned it before but we've gone back to the pub hall I originally asked but then they didn't reply (not the £2500 Lion one)

We are going to view it on Sat but lots of people said it looks nice when done up, so I think I am just happy to have a venue at this point.

Didn't realise how much their is to planning a wedding - one thing that annoys me (but is also good I guess) they don't have a set menu so they will happily do 3 courses then a buffet as 'what we want'....but I don't know what we want!!! I would of rather of had a choice to choose from then you tell us kinda thing lol.

I will come back to this thread - but I have two exams on 10th of April so I am going to focus on them alone now and put a pin in the wedding stuff, saying that I still have to book the registery office (it's free tho I checked all day which is surprising for saying everything is getting booked up.)

+ If anyone has any good wedding planner guides would be helpful, I have googled a few but they are all just so different and each one I read I am thinking oh yea I need to do that! (Which means it wasn't in the last one)

*puts a pin it in* I can't sleep so I am going to get some studying done ;)
