Our neighbouring council does this.
Over a couple of years, they collected all the electrical items that were taken to the tip, then sold them to a recycling company.:T
Really good you may say, but........ the council were a little slow in invoicing the said company and by the time they did, the company had gone bankrupt!

Morning elite!
Dipdap re: your clutter problem. It sounds like you have lovely ideas for certain items. But if you say the bits for the trike have been sitting in your house for 2 years then I think it's time to let them go. That's the problem with keeping things for an unknown time or person, there's no time limit to get them out of your house because you know what you might do with them but just never get around to it.
Sort everything into piles. Charity shop/dump/definite present for someone's birthday or Christmas. Anything else you could take to a car booty? Good luck!Debt free 6th December 2014

Have you tried B+M? Charity shops might be worth a nosy round as well if you're not fussed about matching.
Im Loving the idea!
I haven't tried B&M but did try the Range. I still want them to be the same size but all bright colours. My kitchen's black and white with silver appliances but needs a splash of colour so I thought it'd be a cheaper way than actually changing the kitchen. Many a mickle makes a muckle.0 -

It is really well organised and the staff are very helpful. Clothes are put into a separate bin and they even encourage clothes that aren't suitable for someone to wear to still be recycled as they are used for stuffing furniture. I think it makes people feel better about using the tip if they think it can still be used and isn't just put on landfill.0 -

With regards to decluttering your loft maybe set yourself say two hours per week and keep at it until its cleared. It will be really time consuming but think how fab you will feel when its done. Also you never know what you may come across that you could be using now:D
I need to declutter my spare room, thats a good advice, will set 1 or 2 hours a week hopefully will clear that mess0 -

He's got an ipad and the basics are more or less the same so hopefully it won't be too bad *touches wood*
I went through the same last year, and to my surprise he gets on great with the phone, probably having the iPad helped a lot.
When I first gave him the iPad (for his 60th) he was horrified, and said I wasted my money and should have bought him something cheaper but he loves it now.Love your Mum, you'll never get another one when she's gone.0
