People simply aren't reading the dedicated thread(s) of these airlines as it's/they are now too long.
Lock it and let it slip off the bottom IMO.
I am sympathetic to this, but there is a lot of good information in there. The main problem, in my view, is that people are just posting without reading. And to some extent that's fine - it's a free country, and all that - but the only way to do this is to show some industry and focus, which means a lot of reading. But lots of people just want it done for them (for free!) ...
That's the issue in my view: you have to work hard to get your head round this, and no amount of forum re-engineering can change that fact.

It would still be readable, if locked. We would just post a link if necessary.
I would bet that any new thread about Thomas Cook would have the car/MOT letter posted within the first 2 or 3 pages. So it wouldn't take long to build up to the same generic info.
