Best Electric Lawn Mower for medium size lawn

My Flymo Lawn mower has given up the ghost. We have a medium sized lawn and are considering switching from a hover mower to a rotary one. We want an electric lawn mower and not a petrol one. We have heard that Bosch lawn mowers are good, and you can purchase one for between £100 amd £130, which is roughly what we would expect to pay. What is anybody elses experience. Any feedback on this subject will appreciated.

Last Bosch we bought lasted about 8 years so we were happy, we than bought a new Bosch from B&Q, similar design, for app £80. The new one is no match on the earlier one as it leaves the grass too long even on the lowest setting, the base of the mower also rubs on the lawn when used on the lowest setting and makes it difficult to push. Perhaps the more expensive models you suggest don't suffer the same design problems.0

Weird! I have a tab open in Google for Which (My Mum subscribes..), and so I can tell you that the Bosch Rotak 40 Ergoflex is a Best Buy
I was googling 'best mower for medium sized lawns too', haha!
Hope this helps,

Sorry - just noticed your budget and it's a bit higher priced. But there's hope! Might be some sales on soon.
(I'm waiting for it to come down, too...)0 -
I bought the Bosch Rotak 34 a few years ago and it's been great. We then moved and have a weird shaped garden and the cord got in the way, so last year we got a Bosch Rotak 43 cordless mower to make it easier.
I definitely prefer the wider cut width of the 43 to the 34 (and the larger grass box), so the 40 model as noted by Lucyeff would be a good choice. Only slightly more than your budget at £160 on Amazon, but worth the extra IMO. The 32 version is £95 and 34 version is £145 - the version number refers to width of cut in cms.0 -
I have a wide width Bosch and love it. The wide width means less trecking up and downed the lawn so the job gets done quicker. If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0

I have a small Bosch Rotak and it's vastly better in every respect than the Flymo I had before that.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Another vote for the Bosch..... just check as I believe the Qualcast mower is essentially the Bosch re-badged and a bit of colour difference... maybe someone else could confirm... might pick one up a tad cheaper than the Bosch......
It's amazing the number of top manufacturers who make the own brand stuff for other companies. I also have a petrol Flymo but all the documentation refers to Husqvarna...
I once fitted a Homebase Essentials electric shower in a house I owned (just wanted something cheap) and the thing was made by Mira !!0 -
We purchased a Bosch Rotak 430 Ergoflex which which we are generally we pleased . The only down side is the grass collection box it is difficult to put on and remove. The plus side is it has a 2 year warranty compared to the one year on a Flymo. It is also a lot heavier than a Flymo. If you have got the money then a Mountfield lawn mower is probably the best you can buy for quality. We certainly would not buy a Qualcast again as it caused us no end of problems. Value for money and for a good mow we of the opinion that a Bosch is better than a Flymo.0
