Vet told me to ring at 1pm for an update on Lucy.
Then said she still hadn't been done and to call back at 3pm.
Poor old girl will be spitting feathers!0 -
I was always told no food after a certain point but not to withhold water.
Anyway good luck!!2 angels in heaven :A0 -
Lucy's home now thank God. Very thirsty and absolutely starving hungry. They found a second lump next to the big one and so removed that too.
The lumps have gone for analysis so keeping my fingers crossed nothing sinister shows up.
Lucy seems fine in herself but not amused at having to wear the cone. The lump was under her bottom jaw so I'm a bit surprised at the cone as it looks like it may rub on the wound. Vet said as there's no dressing on the wound, if Lucy scratches it she could split it open, so the cone has to stay.0 -
if you are worried about the edge of the cone then that sponge draft excluder with the sticky back put around it could help. or silver duct tape - those edges can be a bit sharp cant they?0

Thanks meritaten. It's the part that actually goes on her neck that worries me but it's a great idea to put the duct tape on it.
I'll do that now.0 -

Thanks Chris. I was tempted to take it off her but then if she opened the wound I'd be the one to blame.:(0 -
