    No it's 3G - phone not capable of 4G.

Didnt think 3g could go upto 17mb, more like 8mb max. I tether and had no issues
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

No, highest theoretical speed over a 3G UMTS network using HSPA+ is actually 168Mbit/s.

Most networks have deployed DC-HSDPA which has a max of 42Mbit/s.

DC-HSDPA will often run over 20Mbit/s in real world use.

Thanks for that, at the rates you guys are getting, there is definately no need to swap to 4g (which was one of the reasons I was goging to swap to tesco mobile) Here in Brum my mate on 3 4g is just getting 21mbs.

3G falls down because of congestion currently (and a slower upload than LTE).

Too many people on a site and the speed drops quickly, having said that, as networks migrate people over to 4G those left on 3G, especially on networks like Three which have upgraded all their base stations to DC-HSPDA or HSPA, will have a better (and more reliable) 3G service than it is currently.

    Edit to add:

I've been less than impressed by 4G on Three (hopefully it's all just launch teething issues), but around here Three 4G download speeds are worse than Three 3G download speeds (tested just a few hundred metres apart).

The only issue I had with tesco mobile was the lack of call forwarding but they may now offer that although there's no mention of it that I can see.

I've just gone back to Tesco after two years with Virgin (worst CS of any company I've EVER EVER dealt with)

I found Tesco's CS to be excellent. I had to ring them twice in the buying of this latest phone and sim and they answered the phone instantly, hardly any time on hold and problems all sorted within minutes. I used their online chat too which was really useful.

    I'd recommend them.

I was about to move over from O2 but found that MMS was extra. Not that I send that many but just seemed a little odd.
