Insurance claim against my car.

All cars have to have insurance held upon them or be driven by someone who is insured.
The two are not the same.
Anyone back to the OP, I would serve legal notice upon this firm making the claim that they have without substance caused you a financial loss by bringing a false claim.
That you shall be seeking all losses by county court within 14 days if no contact is made to rectify the situation.
That the notice serves a a letter before county court claim.Be happy...;)0 -

You're the one missing the point, the Road Traffic Act makes the Insurer of the vehicle liable for a fault accident whether they're insured by the policy or not providing they're identified.
Thus if the OP had Insurance on the car anyone who had an accident in the car would be covered by his policy providing they were identified.0 -
But the contact from the alleged third party was with the owner.0

The owner being the OP who appears to have insurance on the car which basically means if the driver at the time of the accident was identified then the OPs Insurance have no option but to pay out on fault claims.
It's a statutory requirement of the RTA0 -
Halifax was my previous insurer I just renewed it with them on 1st Feb to start on 5th Feb, I phoned them on 3rd Feb as soon as I got the letter from Sabre and told them, so they knew about this before they renewed my policy. Never heard anything till I got a cancelation notice on 26th Feb with no reason why. Halifax or Sabre have never contacted me again I have been phoning them and getting nowhere, just both blaming each other, I have never heard of Sabre before this either.Halifax said when I phoned that my policy Was cancelled because I should not have 3 no claims on my insurance because of the incident, but I had informed them before my new policy started about the false claim that I received. Getting nowhere fast.0

What I would do is to write to Sabre informing them that You were nowhere near the alleged location of the incident, and had no reason to be there. Tell them where you actually were (work? can be verified with your boss/cctv?). Inform Sabre that you need the allegations and claim against you dropped and a reply to confirm this has happened that you can send to Halifax to re-instate your NCB.
If the claim involved damage to the other car allegedly caused by your car, perhaps you could send them photos of your car to prove there is no relating damage. Not sure this is necessary though, nor would it prove anything - you could have repaired any damage by now.Could HAVE. Should HAVE. Would HAVE. Not OF.0 -

Do you have the letter Halifax sent you when they cancelled the policy, if so how much notice does it give you and what reason does it give for them cancelling?0 -
Yes I have the letter it does not state any reason for the cancelation just 7 days notice. I have now paid again to be insured with them so that I can fix this mess, As I keep saying all the imformation I have had from Halifax is the cancelation notice no explanation at all. Not heard from them or Sabre who is acting on behalf of the third party who is claiming against me. Nobody has contacted me about this and nobody has been to look at my car. I dont even know if Halifax has paid out or not as afer phoning many times no person seems to know anything.0

You need to speak to Halifax claims and explain the situation about the claim along with any evidence you have that it was not you or your car. They will normally send out someone to take a statement and / or inspect your car for damage relating to the accident and take a description of you and your car so they can ask the other party for a description of the car and driver that hit them
Once you've cleared that up I would be putting an official complaint in regarding them cancelling your insurance for no valid reason.0
