    http://www.yourbridalwear.com/ ???

There are very few contact details on that site, although it does give a UK contact email address (albeit Gmail). And all pricing seems to default to GBP, further lending to an appearance of being a UK supplier.

However it is definitely a Chinese company - http://www.whois.com/whois/yourbridalwear.com

You're going to struggle to get anything out of them. By the time you pay for the return of the dress, and their 45% restocking fee (£31.50 of the £70) you're not going to have much left. Time to put this down to experience I think. :(

Is there really no protection with me paying for an item, and it arriving completely un fit for purpose, in the wrong size, with holes in it... just because i bought it from china?

If you buy from a foreign company then you will have whatever protection the laws of that country provide. I don't know anything about Chinese law, but I imagine they have something vaguely comparable to The Sale of Goods Act. However you would have to pursue the company in China, probably in Chinese. It would be an understatement to say it would be hassle.

hmmm maybe i do need to take it as experience then? she is a UK seller im almost certain. But the company is chinese so i dont honestly know where i stand with that. If im honest I believed it was a UK company that used a Chinese workplace to make the dresses.

    Im not quite sure..

http://www.whois.com/whois/yourbridalwear.co.uk however is registered to an individual in Jersey and gives you the option to pay by transfer to:

    Account holder: element solution
    Account number: 91544284
    Sort code: 40-31-17
    Bank name: HSBC

If it were a UK company/ individual then it is breaching a lot of rules in their site

That is who i paid. I paid via a bank transfer to those details via my debit card! What does this mean? Are they a UK company and do i have the originally rights i thought i did?

They have obviously sent that email and i do need to respond . if i had a case i would fight it to the death. my mother in law has funded this dress and we have now paid postage to send it back. We have already had money loss in other wedding aspects so if i could fight this and be entitled to a full =refund id really like to obviously do that. Let me know, youve been so helpful so far!

Bank transfer - that should have been the first warning sign. :(

They are NOT a UK company. Seriously - I know this is not what you want to hear, but you'll likely have to write this off and put it down to experience.

And do more due diligence in future regarding where you're buying from.

I live just down the road from the address of that site (literally about 2 mins walk) :D

Want me to go knock on their door?

Interestingly element solution and bridalwear are not registered with the JFSC (Jersey regulatory) so are not properly formed companies.

I paid £1500 for a "BRITISH designer" to make my dress and that it the company im taking to court already for sending the complete wrong size and not honoring a refund and breaking the rules of the sale of goods act.

So you can take your ridiculous comment else where. How sad are you to come on to a dress forum on mse to make such a comment.
